A guy had a Min air spectra g (gasser) at the feild. This thing was no turd. Aileron Tic Toc's on un broken in motor. There is no doubt that a well setup 90 will out perform it, but the cheap gas and reliability makes it the hotness.

The gassers have always intrigued me to.
I do have an older Xcell Gasser that I have been flying for a bunch of years. I am working on a Gohbee Stinger Gasser prototype right now. With the Gohbee getting closer to flying, I will probably sell my xcell Gasser cheap, soon.

Yes I agree !! I saw that bird fly too.. All I can say is SWEEEEEEEEEEEEET !!! I would really consider a gasser, so much cheaper to fly.

The gassers seem to have come a long way now. I flew my friend's Predator Gasser, it was stable, felt light in the air, had a ton of power, and great response. A little heavier than a 90, but I do think it would be very cool.

Are they more expensive than their glow counterparts? If so, by how much?

A slightly more expensive to start, but I would guess cheaper in the long run. 1 gallon 30%=$23 vs a gallon of premium gas.

Actually the gasser helies do not like premium gas.
Running premium will cause the engine to overheat. They prefer the plane old cheap regular gas. With a 90 glow you get around 6-7 tanks out of a gallon, each tank is around 10 minutes of flight. With a gasser you can get 18-20 10-minute flights out of a gallon of gas. You are looking at around $200 more for a gasser. That works out with the fuel cost savings to have a break-even point at around 540 minutes of flight time, or the time it would take you to burn 2 cases of glow. This is figured at $25/gal for 30% glow and $3/gal gas-oil mix.

Not much for pics yet but here are some screen shots from my cad system.
I am still in the design phase and accumulating parts that will be needed. I am planning to use the BME Supertigre G2300 gas conversion for this. The BME is about a pound lighter than a Zenoah 23cc engine. The engine pic is with a stock Stinger 90 fan and clutch in place. I want more airflow than what the stock fan will put out. I also want a bigger clutch than what is on a 90. The fun is going to be making all of these parts.

Wow. That is going to be amazing. We were just talking about the next wave of gas engines (like the Super Tiger) that are going to change the way people look at gassers. Put me on the list for the Stinger conversion. I'll call you tomorrow night.
