"Regionals be open, wihtout bonus points for each pilot beaten"

Can't you conservatives spell? How about grammar?

for a contest to be a Valid IMAC contest, it must be open to anyone...

I'm for the top 10, and kick the bonus points. The regionals should be a reward for supporting IMAC. Everyone knows the expense involved in making 6 contest. Just aint right that someone can show up at regionals for thier first contest of the season.

FWB

PS Pete go ahead and correct my speeling and gremar.

There's no such thing as a "valid" contest. The only rules are regarding whether the contest counts toward Regional standings. This IS the regionals - nothing left to fight for after this one's over with (except next year).

Looks like the majority of folks don't like the bonus point system.

Pride,

I like the idea of a "poll" or a vote but,, it needs to be done on the IMAC web site or an official mailing from IMAC.

see you soon,
John

Which bonus points are you talking about? The 5 points for every person you beat, or the fact that the regionals are worth 50% more points than other contests? I think there should not be a regional championship contest at all - just a final contest of the year where awards will be presented to those that have earned enough to place in their class. The motivation to attend would be the fact that it is the last contest of the year, and if you are high enough to place in your class you can be presented with your award among your peers/friends. If you cannot attend but are already high enough up in the points to place, then they can mail the award to you.
