There is no price quoted yet.. the plane isn't even ready yet.
There is a 100cc Yak, not extra. There will be a 100cc Extra at some point.. but no sense in getting ahead here

1,800 - 2,000 for this plane would be steep IMO. Look at the Great Planes 38%. It costs $1,000 and comes with all carbon tubes, alum hardware, arms, canopy and pilot installed. Yes this is a smaller plane and it probably can't compare to the performance of the EF, but all things considered, including the economy, I would probably say this plane is reasonably priced if it's in the 1,400-1,600 range.
The Aeroworks 260 (40%) is probably the best flying ARF out there as we have seen a couple big names flying them, and that one is $1,895. Plus the hinges come installed, you get extra covering, canopy installed, all bolt holes for ur cowl, canopy, and stabs are already drilled and blind-nutted, you get throw meters, extra balsa, cowl baffles, all your hardware and extra stuff like zip-ties and velcro straps. Only con is that you get aluminum tubes. carbon tube would be another $100, but the plane flies light enough as it is so why bother. I can't have a 40% for now because I have no room or convenient transport for a 40%, but if I was to get one, $1,400-$1,600 would be my budget for a plane that I have to hinge and work on for a lot more time than an $1,900 one.

Totally agree w/ you Vic 1400 - 1600 would be reasonable. I hope they come out w/ another color scheme. I have the RWB extra but I dont want my 40% the same color as my 50cc extra. Some companies are doing custom order covering, that would be an awesome option for this bird.

If AW sells theirs for 1900, why can't EF do it for at least that much if it has the same level of completion and hardware?

I'm sure EF will certainly take your opinion into consideration while pricing the new extra. |

Whatever the price is it will be fair when compared to other planes in it's class.

You can get the big names to throw around a cardboard box and make it look good, but that doesn't mean the quality is there in the aircraft. I would be willing to pay up $2,000 or more if this plane flies anything remotely close to my 50cc Extra which I know it will fly even better. Chris is taking his time to put out an ultra high quality 40%plane, and IMHO Extreme Flight planes are the cream of the crop. I have not flown another plane that is even on the same level as them as far quality and flight performance. |

Plus the GP 38% Extra doesn't have a carbon wing tube, just the stab tubes I think. I talked with Nick Maxwell about his this weekend and he said he just needed something quick and you can 3D the snot out of it, BUT it doesn't hold lines very good. So it's no good for anything above probably Sportsman in IMAC. I'm willing to bet the EF will track almost as good as a Godfrey, Carden, or Dalton.

Yeah some of those big name pilots that fly custom Godfrey, Carden, and Dalton planes have flown the prototypes and said nothing but good things about the plane. You won't get any closer to a custom built plane than this, and when you consider what it cost to purchase a kit, pay for the build and everything you will need to build it with, or add the hours of work if you build yourself, you will end up spending less money on the Extreme Flight Extra yet still end up with a top of the line competition aircarft. You won't get better hardware than what Chris includes, he won't settle for anything less than the best for us.
