Yea, and I have seen those two piece cowls blow apart more than once....This setup on the Extra is perfect as a one piece plus its real easy to remove and VERY clean looking!

Its much easier to remove the single spinner bolt, 6 prop bolts and the 3 bolts that retain the cowl than the 20 or so screws on a 2 piece cowl.

Seems like all the EF affiliated posters support the one-piece cowl and everyone else (potential customers) want a 2 piece. I am now indifferent, but I was originally thinking "***" when I read the plane had a one piece cowl. I can see the pros/cons for both cases. After owning 2 40%ers with a split cowl and multiple 35%ers with a one piece cowl, I can say I prefer the split cowl. Not a deal breaker for me as I LOVE Extreme Flights products. This is the only wood 40%er ARF that I am interested in right now. I am really looking forward to the release of this plane.

I doubt the cowling being one or two pieces will slow down sales.....they're all sold anyway.

if you are running a 3W, you need more effective baff'ling... a 2 piece cowl makes that job easier....

I dont see the benefit of a 2 piece cowl at all. I mean after initial setup, how often is the cowl coming off it, if at all?
As for the cooling on a 3W, easy enough.. get a DA

Does the production model have a brace at the front like the 110" Yak?

The single cowl is ALOT easier than the two peice...It has nothing to do with my affiliation with Extreme Flight...its preferance. I have seen more than one two piece cowl come apart in flight.
The less screws the better...and the look is much cleaner.... Blair
