I was hoping to have this plane for NATS, but oh well I'll settle to have this plane for next year's NATS. |

I've seen a thread with a 40% Carden built light and flown on a DA100. The videos made it look like a pretty cool 3D machine.
In the same context, I wonder how this plane would workout with a minimal servo / battery installation and one of the more powerful 100cc class engines on pipes? |

To me the preferred set-up would be. DA-170, RE-3's, A123's, and HS-7950TH servos.

The first one that Chris has been testing for a while has a 150 and cans. The new updated one that was at the Joe Nall has a 170 and pipes.

If you want to fly IMAC you probably need the tuned pipes, because this plane is pretty big. I agree that a DA-170 with RE-3 would be a perfect setup. Just replace those shabby Hitecs by Futaba servos...

Different strokes for different folks. LOL. Now if Futaba will start making all their servos programmable instead of just the micros.

I was just kidding. Anyway, as I use a programmable PowerBox in my airplanes I don't need programmable servos.
But let's get back to the Extra.

Has there been a price posted yet?
I think the bolt holes are the same for the 150 and the 170, does anybody know that for sure? |
