Most companies work that way, it doesn't always make everyone happy but that's the way it is. An example would be using more than 6 volts on a servo that isn't rated for that. I hope you can come to some kind of agreement, they are a great company, good luck.

If they would have told me that in the begging i would not have anothe 200.00 in shipping back to them.

Do you realize the zdz super 80 or the da 85 has as much or more power than this bme 102. But thats not why im upset. They did not ask the right questions when i call them, not my fault. now my freind is another 200.00 in the hole. I would have understood if they would have said, this things no longer in production i cant help you. But they had my freind spend another 200.00 to tell me they cant help. There are numerous posts on here were people have had the same problem with this pos.

always be careful buying old airframes that are still new in the box. there is no telling how long it has been there. we really dont need talk like this on fg anyway.

Like Lee and others have said, if you put a larger motor on the airplane than what the manual calls for, you immediately void the warranty. Every company works this way with any type of product. You do something it tells you not to do, and you void the warranty. Old airframes that are new in the box should be inspected for any possible damage from sitting for a long while. Theres no telling what the plane or whatever could do in the time it sits. And I would think that they would have told you that the motor used was too big and voided the warranty and saved your friend the extra $200.00 in shipping IF you told them the motor that was put on it before it was shipped back. And also, how can a company just ask the right questions?

I understand why you are upset, and completely feel for you and your buddy.

GT80 was perfect combination actually you just didnt have as much power in a hover. Did everything else fine.
Never mention you had a over powered motor on the plane or else they wont help you. A friend of mine was flying his with a BME and his wing exploded and they didnt do a thing due to it was a bme 102 or w/e
they didnt even ask what engine we had on it untill after they told us they would exchange it and it was in theyre possesion. seems to me if this was going to be theyre way out, they would have asked BEFORE they told us to ship it !!!!!!!!!! IT WOULD HAVE BEEN FINE IF THEY HAD SAID ''SORRY, WE CANT HELP YOU'' BUT THEY HAD US PAY $200 SHIIPPING IT BACK THEN PUT THE SCREWS TO US.

BUT H9 HAS BEEN IN THIS BUSINESS LONGER THAN ME, SO I WOULD FIGURE THEY WOULD KNOW WHAT QUESTIONS TO ASK. IF THEY HAD BEEN PROFESSIONAL ENOUGH TO ASK WHAT ENGINE WE HAD ON IT IN THE FIRST PLACE, WE WOULDNT BE OUT $200 SHIPPING

hi
i had the same plane and my wing exploded in flight i had a zdz 80 on mine when i called them they said it wasnt covered anymore because it was no longer made i found out that these planes had a history of this problem but they left them out in the hobby shops for people to buy and than tell us we should have known about it

you will also notice all the negitive responces from people when you complain about hanger 9 i had plenty of there planes over the years but this still bothers me the way they handled this for you and me in the end they gave me a discount off a new one if i wanted it i havent used it yet it and it isnt going to cover the cost of fixing my engine and the plane
anyway good luck

3w lasted on mine. only reason why my wing bend a lil was because it has gone through 3 to 4 years of flying it and that last freestyle i did with it i went all out. you did tell them you had the old sukhoi right. i mean they didnt assume you had the new one.

Sad thing is thirty minutes work on those wings and they would have been stronger than ever. Mine had cracked ribs in one wing and it was an easy fix to reinforce it.

Sorry that this ha happened to your friend, I to wonder if who ever you talked to thought you was talking about the new one. I flew one of the olds ones for a long time with a fox 104cc. That plane has been discontinued for a very long time. I'm surprised that a hobby shop still had one. Anyway, I think there was some miscommunication, I hope that it can be worked out, I have had nothin but good dealings with Horizon. Again sorry for the problems ya'll are having and good luck!

so...all this fuss over ONE wing? I'm sure you can find a new wing somewhere...or fix the old one. i understand being upset about the $200 shipping charge though.
