I would put the litest motor possable DA50 or a da85 the dam 85 ratilled the hell out of this thing
The DA50 with all the good stuff anf move the batts all the way infont would make a nice lite airframe and should make enf power to kill airframe and its lighter so lessstress on wings I just saw a cardon yak 54 with the DA50 yetter day you can hover and pullout nice but not like the DA85 you fly aournd more a 3/4 and higher DA85 more like 1/2 on a little lower and its out on it power band I think the 3w80s are too heavy for this airframe the DA85 is more a pound lighter PS they what me to send the airframe in before they do any thing |

well it has a 3w on it and its in recomended range it seems to be powered just right i couldnt imagine a 50 on it it would be a turd. ive got 50cc engines and 60's this seems to walk circles around them i guess im wondering if i need to strip the wings and check them for cracks or is there known issues like rib number 3 or something like that

well i dont have to worry about the wing failure on these planes because the consistant 3w failiure took the cake today next plane will have a diffrent brand of engine.

From horizons web page on this plane "Perfect match for the DA 85 gas engine" A bme 105 weighs about 3oz more than a da85. Powerwise they are in the same ballpark. Claiming that putting a BME 102 on it caused wing failuere is crap. It failed because the construction is poor in the wing. I would strip it down and reglue the wing. I have seen the inside of a few hangar nine planes and they are not overly generous with the glue... Last weekend I saw the whole nacelle on one of their b25s fall apart while taxiing. It was not builder/operator error either...It is good that they stood behind their product and offered a replacemen on the Sukhoi. Hopefully the new releases of several of their previously discontinued planes will have better construction. They have some great designs, they just need better QC at the factory...
