Default Pics of your 100cc set up

Hey guys - I'm looking at the 100cc Aeroworks Yak or the Extra 260, is there anyone on here that has pics of your set up in these planes? If so could you please post some pics, I'm looking for some ideals, I have some of my own but would like to see what others have done. Thanks in advance.

I then recovered and glassed the canopy so the plane would be the same as my 42% IMAC scheme. I also sprayed the inside with grey primer and speckle paint.

I also put XPS in the plane and left everything else the same. It crashed on landing approach on the 5th flight (or was it the third?). Went into lockout. Not sure what happened but the plane was a loss except for 1 wing, the rudder and the both stabs ( I still have them).

I recently bought a used AW260 and am in the process of putting it together, it needed some TLC. The cowl is the red/silver/white with black checkers. My scheme will be a version of that but not the same as the AW scheme

Here's how I'm going to outfit that
(changes in red)

JR 10x w/spektrum module
Spektrum AR9000 with 2 satellites
(2) 8611's per aileron
(1) 8611a per elevator
(1) 811 on throttle
(2) 8611a on Rudder in push/pull configuration from the tail
(2) 4800 LIONS for the RX
(1) 2400 LION for the Ignition
(1) Smart-fly EQ-10
(1) Smart-Fly Turbo Reg
(1) ED optic kill switch
32 oz Dubro tank
3W106b2 on Pefa Cans
Mejlik 28x10
Tru-turn spinner (4")
AW grapite tailwheel
Dubro 4in Lite wheels
glassing the hatch

Wait till you see the new 260. That will be a cleaner setup. I hate rat nest planes. Makes trouble shooting to hard and it looks bad

Well I had to take a break from the P-47 due to some parts I need on the wing.

I started the covering of my 260. I got the Stabs and Rudder done. I'm repairing the wings also from the gear pants going through them on a crash. They will be ready to cover in a day or two.

sorry to hijack the thread......

Here are some pics of the work on my 260 so far. Hope this helps you out.

I have to wait to do the other wing until after I do the fuse so I can see how much more covering I need. This was done in Ultracote because it matches the cowl. Fuse is going to be exactly like the cowl. The hatch has been fiberglassed and the canopy has been glued down and is flush (no seam) with the hatch. Needs a little more sanding before it'll be ready for paint.

guys, if these are AW 35% 260's watch the weight and the placement of batteries. I run a DA100 on KS canisters and was having an issue with being slightly nose heavy. I built a battery tray up under the turtledeck and mounted my main batteries there, they sat high in the fuse and while flying I noted it caused some wierd rotational pull causing it to roll really strange. Moved the batteries back beside the rudder servos (stock location) and all is well...removed the tray I built and got back to where I was previously. Also use as much rudder as you can get from the bevels on the rudder/vstab...JR 3.5 Arms work great...CF wing Tube, stab tubes and Landing gear to help keep weight down too! love the way it flies, will do both IMACc and 3D really well!

Never had a problem with weight (this is my 2nd one of these). I had to add 2oz of weight to the tailwheel with the cans last time so this time I just put the servos in the tail instead. I never noticed any weird rotational items. I had all stock on the last one and this one is all stock except I got the CF wingtube (freebie from a friend).

well like I siad I moved the batteries under the turtledeck and they were located above the datum line, i think that caused the weird rotations!

I HIGHLY recommend watching your weight in this plane. Its not hard to keep it light but it is VERY easy to end up heavy. The newer runs of this plane tends to come out very noseheavy when built stock, so I recommend mounting the single (8711 is the only way to go) rudder servo in the tail-there is already a servo cutout there ready for a servo. To do this plane again (I had one and loved it!) I would use three A123 1100 batteries, an ar9100 Powersafe receiver, and I would consider single servos on each wing panel(I know of three people that did it without issues - just need to soak the servo mount area with CA to reinforce them). I would most definitely go with cf tubes and main gear, and there are plenty of areas in the fuse to drop more weight. Believe me, this plane may fly well at 27-28 pounds, but it flies AWESOME at 25.5 pounds (ask me how I know)
I am on my blackberry now, but I will try to post some pics later from home.

here's a pic of the fuse.

Sorry AW.....I basically had to copy the fuse design since I had the cowl to match. Most of the radio gear has also been installed.

For some reason I can't seem to find the willingness to finish the repair on the other wing.......that is really the only thing left besides paint on the wheel pants and hatch.

Alright.....I've been busy.

The plane is basically done, kinda.

Wings are covered, servos installed and matched
Stabs are covered, servos installed and matched
Fuse is covered and all electronics installed
Gas tank is plumbed and in the plane
3W106 is installed w/cans
Cowl is installed w/ 3W fueler in it
Mejlik 28x10 prop installed

Things to do

Need to finish the linkages for the rudder push/pull
waiting on my dubro wheels to show up
Sand/Prime/Paint wheel pants
Sand/Paint Hatch that was fiberglassed and primed already
Paint new helmet scheme on the pilot (I'll probably do the maiden first though)
I have not glued down the battery trays. waiting to get the remainder done so I can balance it first.

I am in need of a 4 inch spinner bolt though for a Tru-turn. I can't seem to find mine and the one in the spinner was too long so I think it was for my 4.5 spinner.

If anyone can help out let me know.

Guess I got lucky.... I built mine completely stock, 2 servos mid-plane for pull-pull, and absolutely no balance issues whatsoever. New edition DA-100, 7955s all around, manual choke. This is one sweet flying plane.
