Default AeroWorks QB 260 Build

Well I ordered my plane from Troybuilt models on Monday......

My wife called me at work......all 3 boxes showed up today.

I've already printed out the manual from online.

I've decided to build this plane in order from the manual and give you an actual

"Time to build"

I'll start tonight!

Did you know that it comes with an instructuional CD in the kit? That CD contains the instructions you printed, but if you have a laptop you can keep it near you during the build and you can enlarge pics, etc. If I understood Rocco correctly, it also has video on it for more building ease and entertainment.
I am starting to regret having returned mine, because the final weight on my alternate plane was a huge dissapointment. I could have been within a half-pound on this one if I added CF stuff
Oh, well. I am making up for it by ordering their 75cc Yak. I will put the BME 110 in it and be at 22 pounds or less...that should cure my P2W fix!

Ditto.....

I also know the plane came with a CD......I printed it out early so I wouldn't have to wait for my slow printer.

Bodywerks:

Is the plane you got instead of the AW-260 a QQ-Yak? If so what does it weigh? How is the fit/finish? I've heard the finish is terrible. For the price, I want it to fly great but it should at least look good as well.

I know this thread is for the Aeroworks plane, but the QQ Yak is an alternative.

Thanks

It's in my signature - it's not like I type that out every time...
And I will not leave the company I work for just to move to sealevel (Skywest Airlines - about the only airline out there that is still turning a profit). The only places at or near sealevel that they have bases at are LAX, Palm Springs, and San Fransisco. I can't even afford a storage unit out there on aircraft mechanic wages, let alone a house!
However, they do have a base in Tucson. It's at 3000-3500 feet, but it's better than nearly 7,000! The wife and I are already making plans for that within the next year.
I used to live at sea level, too (soCal), which is why I bitch so much - because I know what I am missing!

right now I'm missing my cowl bolts and 1 former was damaged. I already contacted TBM about the bolts and I think I can fix the former.
