I only fly IMAC with my 300.........I'm sure it would 3-D just fine though. It just tracks too straight and flies so stable that I don't want to abuse it in 3-D (and I'm not good at it) so I leave this plane for strictly IMAC and plan to learn/fly my 3-D on the sim and my 100cc planes.
Again I got my plane prior to all the bad press by the company. Back when there was no doubt that it was an Aerotech only plane. Mine was lightened a little bit, nothing drastic and with a 157 and cans came out at 39-40lbs....so 35-36 would be doable. If you can get a plane they are great flying machines when properly built. But there are many here on FG that will no longer support the company for what has happened and to that I cannot blame them no matter what ammends (if any have or will happen) are made.

Casey,
You are welcome young man. Many of the Flying Giants don't like seeing young men like you and your friend in Iceland getting ripped off by a lying, deceitful businessman like the individual who owns Aerotech. FG is a great site and it has no room for people who do business like this man. |

like i stated before.... i have no worries or issues with the yak i have coming being complete. i fully understand that people were ripped off by john and that is why i am not dealing with john. rob will have my kit in full and be able to get me replacement parts if necessary. this will be my "competition airframes" 40% yak 54!!!!!!
if anyone wants the planes but doesn't wish to deal with john....just call rob! craven, don't hate me man!!! i just want a big yak and i want rob to build it! i ordered this prior to having a full understanding of the company's perils! i still have complete faith in rob and that should be good enough!!!! Mr. Russo..... man i am getting close on my ml 300! it should be ready for the gear to be mounted by next week. my cover dude was a little slow! but she will look great! i'll get you pictures for sure. i wish that dalton offered a big yak and i wouldn't have to deal with anything less than the BEST! good luck to all in all of their modeling ventures! matt

I would never buy anything from aerotech for all the reasons posted on this thread. I have flown his big yak and it is far from a serious imac airplane, I would buy a godfrey, dalton or carden kit.

DO NOT give your money to John Sharpless. You will have a better time throwing it away! You will not recieve the parts you need and if you do receive the parts they will be the wrong ones. He stole my money by the yak 55. Wings could never fit in the wing socket. The canister box sticks out through the bottom of the belly pan. Wing tube sockets not in the center. Never recieved the turtle deck. In the process now of cutting new formers f2-f3 -f4-f5. I just got a box of junk parts. He does not answer the phone or e-mail. Do Not buy from AEROTECH! He is an ASS- OLE

Honestly, I'm disappointed with Rob more than anybody and it's not really his fault. He's just in business to build what his customer's want. I'd like to see him stop building Aeotech kits if I had any say so. |

In my opinion, before doing any business with Aerotech, I would highly recommend searching around these forums, and avoid doing any type of business whatsoever with Aerotech, or John Sharpless. I would steer clear of this company by any means necessary, regardless if you could care less what you're building, if you're a local Florida resident, or whatever rationalization you may be able to formulate. Do your research. There's no justification to even remotely support, even under the guise of neutrality, an entity who has caused a vast number of modelers grief as this company, and it's owner has. All opinion of course, but if you think otherwise, I have some ocean front property in Arizona I'd like to talk to you about.

Was there ever a thread updating the effort a lot of us donated money to? The one where we covered the cost of a plane to the guy in Iceland.

All the donors donated enough money to cover the cost of 2 88" YAK's donated by Chris Hinson at Extreme Flight RC. His website is below. Chris took it upon himself to ship them at his cost and also absorb the loss on the airplanes.
You're a great man Chris! Shop Extreme Flight. He's a great honest man. http://www.extremeflightrc.com/ Last edited by Craven; 08-08-2008 at 10:11 PM. |
