Thank You Flying Giants!

I would just like to say thanks to Flying Giants for letting people freely exchange our thoughts and opinions on this site.
Most of the other sites have really become ridiculous lately with overmoderation to the point where it completely ruins any discussions and you can't even state your true opinion about a manufacturer or a product unless it is positive.

I left one of those sites about 6 months ago for this reason. I went back to that site this morning to post a warning to my fellow pilots, only to find that I've been banned from posting on that site. I guess I've been banned because I said something bad about a product. Unbelievable!

I had a thread on another site this week where the moderator came in and deleted a bunch of posts and partial posts for no good reason. The thread was not even getting heated or anything. It completely ruined the whole thread.

So thank you Flying Giants for being one of the last few places where we can come and truely have the freedom to exchange our thoughts and opinions.

We do our best, but its a hard road. Usually negative comments or opinions put us in a situation that were damned if we do and damned if we don't moderate the thread.

There is a line and its not black and white, its completely subjective to the topic, and the comments made. If the information is genuine and honest and presented in a manner that is professional we will usually let the argument, or opinion ride. But when the comment becomes senseless bashing, we do have to step in.

Just remember, if your mad about a moderators action, there are a slew of people mad about the opposite action. Nothing ever gets deleted or moderated without a huge discussion in the background.
We have a boardroom that we discuss any moderation actions throughly before taking action. (Unless someone posts an R rated picture or something else that is just blatantly against our policy's)

So, we will continue to do our best, all we ask is that you guys use good judgment when posting, share information, not grief!
