2nd annual Jim LeRoy Memorial Fly In
 Great food , great friends , and tons of flying , we fly on a 1800' x 50 ' paved runway with a hanger to keep models in overnight , lots of room for camping . pilots raffel and awards , special airshow at lunch with a tribute to Jim Leroy and Marys Lamb as seen at the Tulsa Heatwave in the hartland . the event is held at the McLeansboro City Airport , located 2 miles south of town , Zip code is 62859 / The airport will show up on a Garman GPS under airports . to get to the field take I-64 exit 100 south on 242 , 10 miles . go through two traffic lights , turn Left @ stop sign than right on Hwy 142 . go south 2 miles , airport road is on right,

Date of event is Saturday October 4 , 2008 / come early , Stay late / We are goign to be flying and setting up on Friday , Event on Saturday and stay and fly on Sunday if you like . Jared , Yes man , whats going on ? I do plan on being at buder park for the big event . Jim and I will be flying the Marys Lamb Tribute there as well . Our club is in its 2nd year and has come a long way in a short time . Last year we had 29 pilots for our first event . We like to see if we can beat that and see this thing grow . The Airport is a private airstrip leased to the club by the city and we have lots of room to hold something big . We cant do it without the pilots and we aim to please to keep them coming back .

Jason, I WILL be there this year! You invited me out last year, but It turned out
that your event fell on my 1 year aniversery....Dont want to go there!  But I remember telling you that I would definately be there this year, and I'm a man of my word Count me in buddy! So its about an hour and a half drive from St. Louis? I'll have my new 35% Hangar 9 Extra 260 with me! no more hefty katana! |

Lodging info .
Lots of room at the field for camping with secure hanger for planes over night Bed and Breakfast in town : 2 miles from field Dollens lake : 8 : Miles from town , A/C Cabins Mt. Vernon :30 miles , every hotes you can think of |

Raffle is starting to take shape with some great prizes to win . also we are goign to have a Alpha 40 RTF to raffle off as well . The field will be shut down for the lunch time Demo with a model airshow by the Show Me RC Airshow team from MO .

Everything and everyone is welcome. You may find anything from electrics, Giant scale 3D , Trainers , War Biards , Helicopters , Maybe evan a Jet . Our Goal is to have a great time Flying and fellowship . we will be giving out some awards to pilots , incuding the Most Fearless Flyer award .

I have 2 tents . a 12' and a 10 '. you can use the 10 if you like , I will have it a buder also if you need it than . Check out Sports Athority , nows a good time to get one and they have great deals on them.
The Fearless award , It speaks for its self . at our spring event Scott Olsen won by being the first pilot up in 25-30 MPH winds all day , Crashes ,, than glues it back for more flying .. Fearless also going to have Best Military , Best Civilian , Best Demo , Best in show , We may also have a cash prize for the one who drove the most to get to the event ! Jason |
