2008 Aeromodeling Extravaganza! St. Louis, Mo.

Hey guys, just letting everyone know about the 2008 Aeromodeling Extravaganza
on September 27th and 28th at Buder Park, Valley Park, Missouri.( 15 minutes from
downtown St. Louis)
Everyone is invited! This is an event for all types of aircraft, so stuff your trailers,
vans, and SUVs with every type of flying machine you have!
The event is mainly geared towards getting people into the hobby, and there is
usually TONS of spectators that show up through out the weekend.
Last year just about everybody in the STL gang was there, and more than half of the flightline was filled with Giants.
Its an awesome time, and I hope you guys can make it!

I'm in. Last year I gave over 20 buddy-box flights to first-time flyers. Bringing my son's trainer again this year.

The extra 260 is DONE and ready to fly! I'll be making the maden flight tomorow right after work! Pictures and video to follow:-)

I plan on being there for both days . this will be my third one and its a hole lot of fun . Jim Lazendorf and I have been working on our Marys Lamb Tribute to Jim LeRoy and the X-Team and have come a long way since last years event. we will be flying it at the show both days .

Matt, I'm not sure about camping, but I dont think that it will be any problem at all.
I do remember that there was 1 guy that brought his camper last year, he stayed to keep an eye on anything that as left out overnight. They do close the gates
to the park at night, so you wont be able to get out after they lock them.
I will check on the camping situation and let you know though!

ON Cnn they said that the river may crest in a few days ? any news on that ? I know that the C/L area floods quick . if it doese will it br dry enough to fly . I have a club member that would like to pull his camper up and fly also . I cant wait , the last 2 years I have been going have been a blast .

You know what, I hadnt even thought about the flooding... I'm not sure what
is supposed to happen with the weather yet. I know Buder is fine as of today,
But I will have to do some checking around to see if they are predicting a flood...
Lets hope not!

Hey Jared. Unless the field floods or the weathe ris bad that weekend, I/m planning to come for Saturday. Where can I get directions to the field? Havent been to Buder Park since I was a kid.

Coming down 55, go to downtown St Louis, cross the bridge and get on I-44 west. Take it about 15 miles to Hwy 141 (Valley Park exit). Turn right on Hwy 141 North and take an immediate right on a service road and another immediate right to Buder Park.

I drove by Buder today and the gate was closed but don't think it is flooded yet. Hopefully, if it floods it will go back down soon enough to not affect the event.

Glad to hear Mike! It will be nice to hang out with you again
Now all we have to do is hope and pray for nice weather and no flooding!
I have a gut feeling that all will be ok...I've been wrong before, but this one
feels right Even if the field does flood, we should still have plenty of time for
the field to dry up.
