I think the smell is from when he left it out in the rain for quite a while at the Rhode Island Balloon Festival a couple of years ago. If I had to guess, i would say its mold!!!!!!

so i peel off an aerographix brand band-aid and this is what I find under the covering.

PLEASE tell me that is epoxy and microballoons that didn't fully cure??

It's still STICKY!!!
