Wow i opened this thread and expected to see that someone blew the wings off a QQ plane on the first flight doing a simple loop. ![]() (QQ Aircraft) Having spoken to QQ several times around contests and so forth I can not see him putting pure junk on the market, (it's just not in his blood) He is a hard core flyer that has a deeper respect for the construction and flight of a model than most of us will ever know. I have never had the chance to fly one of his new planes but I would fly one in second if i had the chance. (AeroWorks) I have flown Aeroworks planes that firends own for years. They are solid well built planes. Having had the pleasure of meeting Mark Dennis (of AeroWorks) twice this year at contests I can tell you; one of the best moves Rocco has ever made for AeroWorks is getting a guy on staff that has the passion for airplanes that Mark does. Watching Mark fly his new Yak is just pure fun that thing looks like real competition for the QQ Yak. Make your decision based on what you like and can afford. Never rely on e-mails to tell if you like a company Do it the old fashion way pay .35 cents on the cell phone and give em quick call. Believe 85% of what you see 50% of what you hear and 5% of what your buddy says someone else told him. I tell you what I am glad i do not have the money to buy a new yak or 260 because it would be one gut wrencher of a choice. ![]() If you changes the title of the thread to "Please Help QQ yak or AeroWorks Yak" you will get more advice than you could ever want from guys who actually fly these planes weekly. ![]() just my .02 jeramy |

Sensei,
You hit the nail on the head. It takes time for the horse to drink from the trough. They are quite a few people ( Please don't take this the wrong way -because I was one of them!) who have gotten there hands on a truly lite airfarme and they will never go back to a heavy airframe. I have flown the AW's. They fly heavy - they also track pretty good. They are not a bad airplane. I have also had the distinict pleasure of flying airplanes with very lite wingloadings!! What alot of folks don't realize is the lighter airplanes land easier and fly better. Less apt to crack them up also!! They make you look better becasue they are more forgiving!! Lighter airplanes help you progress in 3D better also!! You can ask any of the top ranked 3D pilots they will tell you the same thing. Now for my two cents - the QQ is a better airplane IMHO! Folks lighter is indeed better!!! Even the Wright brothers knew this!!! I will probably get beaten for typing this but it is the truth of the matter!!! ![]() ![]() Ronster |

Guys- I am truly sorry for all the misunderstanding here
I don't know how to change the title of this thread,I've tried, if someone can tell me how I will, but as said in my last post that my question was would I be disappointed with the QQ 102" Yak. So I apoligze to all here if I stirred up a hornets nest, but Reza I not coming down on you either but we are talking about a grand for a plane here, sure I would rather have something a lot closer to home, I'm actually from Ohio orginally, and now live in NC. Hey I know that QQ has the best customer service in the business and that says a lot and I am not on here bashing their products.

Durability?-I've been flying a QQ Gen 1 for over two years now with a zillion flights on it. Never have I had a problem with it falling apart or anything (and I aint easy on it). Not only that, but I bought it used, and the guy who owned it before me flew the heck out of it. Its still going strong.
By comparison, I owned a AW extra 260 100cc that lasted 2 flights before one of the aileron servo mounts fell out in flight and destroyed the airplane. My suggestion is just pick the plane that looks coolest to you and be happy. But if it were me, I would get the QQ Gen 4. |

I have owned both the Aw 260 and the QQ 102" Yak, DA100 powered. The AW 260 tracked very well, but that's all I can say good about how it flew, it was heavy and showed it in flight.
I then bought the QQ 102" Yak, owned it for two years (mid-aired it a few months ago - sad moment). All I can say is that the QQ 102" Yak is the best flying plane of the two, hands down. And I would also bet the best flying 35% plane out there. |

I believe the new QQ 101 Yak 54 is the best! With a DA-85 on a Greeve Pipe (which actually turned 200 more rpm than our DA-100 with the exact same prop- 27x10) it is a powerhouse. 2 1/2 pounds lighter than our Gen 3 and 3 lbs lighter than our Gen 1 (which had over 400 flawless flights on it). The 101 is almost entirely identical to the Gen 4 build except it is a little longer fuse and 1" shorter wingspan. It is awesome!
I believe results speak louder than words so here are some results from flying the 101" YAK in a national competition. http://www.qqaircraft.com/default.as...e=more_winners Just our experience, but please buy what will make you happy! ![]() QQ Aircraft Company are awesome people! They stand behind each and every sale! Good Luck!

I totally understand Reza's point...and I'm glad to see the OP offered to change the thread title. Luv2Fly, send a private message to SleepyC, he runs the place, he'll change it for you.

luv2fly,
It's easy to change the thread title. Go to your first post and hit edit then you can change the title. Quique is attending Canada's airshow but Wayne will be in the office if you wanted to call him and he'll be more than happy to help you. Good thing is you probably can pick up the plane. I would suggest that you open up the boxes right at the warehouse and look at them. I can email them to help you with that or when you talk to Wayne ask him and he will help you out. Nothing is better than personally seeing something before buying. ARF business is not in the same par of high performance engine quality. From plane to plane quality can be slightly different (TRUTH needs to be told). One thing about QQ's planes that have been the most consistent based on feedback I have gotten from customers is the weight. They all come around the same weight if built the same or similar components! I just got home and see all these posts and I appreciate all of you helping luv2fly make a decision. I am sure that's what he was looking for. Cheers, Reza |

I have had a first gen QQ yak for several years now,put alot of very hard flights on it.Yes I have had to replace canopys after they exploded off in flight and also had to re glue fuse joints but it still looks good and I would put it up against any 100cc plane out there.Customer service was always 2nd to none. Not to mention I am sure the "bugs" that mine used to have were long sence worked out with the newer gen planes.
