Default BME 58

I helped a friend mount his new BME 58 in an AirWild 260 last night and we ran the motor for the first time. I was impressed by how smooth the engine ran. We did not install the wings or canopy and the vibration on the airframe was minimal. It has a 23X8 prop and it sounded great with that prop. It still has to go through the break in process on the ground, but I'll post RPM and thrust numbers once I get them. I think this is going to be an excellent engine for the new 30% ARF's on the market!!

Yea Ben.
It would be a great motor for that plane. With the Taurus on mine, it was still a little nose heavy. The lighter engine would work great.

I tached mine this weekend. After one gallon, still rich, and running a xoar 23x8 at 6800 rpm. It yanks mine 16.25lb Edge out of a hover with great authority.

The best way to get rid of the richness is to turn the needles in.

How does that xoar compare to say a menz-s or mejz?? I have never run one before.

The Mejz was 6700. That might help you more.

Kris, Kieth said that you did not pay for one. I suggest that you contact him about your payment.

Don't sweat it Andy .. I figured Keith would screw the people who helped him the most, so it's no surprise to me that he reneged on a lot of things. I kissed that money good bye about 6 months ago. Keith will get his reward in another place. . . .

good to see the 58 FINALLY hitting the flying fields. . best of luck keeping things going.

I was in Hutchinson Kansas the other day and had ALL the different sizes of BME engines in my hot little hand..VERY impressive...Also many of the parts, and saw boxes of stuff from Keith he's still sorting out...Many engines in boxes to repair..He's making the ST90 gassers and can't keep them in stock...The quality of the parts I saw is unsurpassed by ANY current manufacturer...He's working to get caught up on orders and repairs, so don't despair, it WILL get done...We took some pictures but forgot to push the "save" button on the phone....The 150 twin is in a test airplane and there just might be another size later....

The old discontinued 110 is by far the purdiest, and it will almost fit in one's hand

Clark called me up with some numbers on the motor. He is still running break in fuel and is not final tuned. He is running a 3W 23 X 8 prop and its turning just over 7000rpm. The thrust is around 24 to 25 pounds.
