Default Las Vegas happenings

Hi Guys,

For those here that live in the Veags area, I am visiting Vegas starting this Fri., and I was wondering if there were any flying events within a reasonable driving distance that I may be able to visit ? Got to stay away from the tables for a little while, somehow.

Also, any good hobby shops that hve a good interest in big birds ?

Thanks,

Not sure of what events are going on since I don't live there anymore.

I can tell you that the LHS are very lacking.

Hobbytown
Hobby People
Nice Twice (consignment and lots of older stuff along with new electrics)

None of them really cater to GS planes

Thanks sweetpea,

That is surprising about the hobby shops for such an area.
I ran across the Hobbytown a few year ago.

Wished there was some flying going on ? Anyboby know where the fields are other the where the TOC was held ? I was hoping to see some flying ?

go to www.propnuts.org

This field is on the North side of town. Paved runway and you fly over a desert landscape with mountains in the background. That is the only other GS field in Vegas. Watch your noise though as the neighbor (just one) has and will complain to the city. If you are on cans or don't rip the prop you are fine

There is nothing going on this weekend except club flying. We also have Bennett Field (TOC Field as some call it) off of Tropicana right behind the UNLV football stadium. And Sweetpea is totally correct the hobby shops blow here. I usually only by screws and fuel line.
