The Sledg includes all of the hardware you need, so in addition the excellent hardware package I am using a Hang-It R/C X2217/08, X20 Amp ESC, PolyQuest 1500mah 3s, APC 11x4.7 SF prop, AR6100e rx and 4 HS-82MG servos. I'll use Mercury Adhesives Foam Safe CA and Activator for most of the building and epoxy for the firewall.
48" Wingspan 552 sq. in Wing Area 22 oz (my setup) 5.8 oz./sq. in. Wing Loading.....LIGHT! I started out by sanding all of the foam parts edges and then sanding my firewall for a smooth fit and good bond with the epoxy that I will use in that area. I joined the wing panels, glued the leading & trailing edge and carbon fiber strips into place, then glued in the main carbon fiber rod spar. Glued on the horizontal stabilizer, the test fit the lower fuse onto the horizontal fuse. The fit was perfect so it got the Mercury treatment. http://www.eastrc.org Last edited by scalefreak; 08-22-2008 at 04:06 AM. |

I dropped in all of the control horns, glued in the firewall, made up the elevator and rudder pushrods, then installed all of the servos. I set up the throws in the radio before doing anything else. Not because I needed too, but I felt compelled. I have a ton of throw on everything without about 50% expo on all surfaces for high rates.
I then started working on the landing gear side plates and getting them drilled out and gluing in teh pegs. |

I got the landing gear set up nice and installed the carbon fiber trussing/flying wires on the bottom of the wing, fuse sides and horizontal stab. Jason Jarvis (Spdstr280z) cut me out a phresh SLEDG logo from a Top Flite trim sheet and I stuck it on. I really should have painted it, but the way I fly...it will not live long enough for it to matter anyway.
