The Juka is fun but is a short lived plane. I like how the yak flys. It's much slower.

So call me lame, but I'm about to purchase my first 3d foamy. It's going to be too hot soon to fly my giant gas planes around so I need something to fly at night in the parks. I'm probably gonna get the Juka, from my friends at the airfield, they say it's the way to go, so I'll take their advice. Anyway, my only question is should I go with a 28", 38", 48", or 55"? I'm leaning towards the 38", but I'd like to hear what you all have to say?

![]() I had my 55" BAF Yak up to 43-44oz flying, and I couldn't believe how incredibly floaty it was!

I'd get the 48" Juka. That's the one I like to fly the most. I think it flies slower better than the 38" (more wing area) really good for flat spins, rolling harriers, rolling spins, hovers hands off.

well this 38 definitely flies good and is more than i expected. I must admit I am now addicted to foamies for sure!! My next foamie will be a 48 juka or yak. we'll see over the next few weeks as the addiction strikes again!

Been flying the DW Yak & Juka Juniors for (outdoors only)a little while, I think the Yak is more stable and predictable, handles wind pretty good to my surprise. Both are a lot of fun after flying 30% & above for 4 years. I'm doing things with foam that I won't do with a gasser, even though I can do nice rolling harriers up high, I only do it DOD with foam. I'm beginning to think that flying foamies is helping my overall flying, they give you a "pucker free" chance to try things down low and I seem to be developing more "touch" that foamies seem to need.

James, I agre with you 100%. The big 3DHS gasser is great to fly, but the DW Foamie is just a blast. I can fly 3 packs at the park and be home in less time to drive to the field. Plus when I crash just bust out the gorilla glue and within a couple of hours it is good to go. I have a Yak now but will try the Juka next.
