I'll be there! - with bells on!
Now got my Piper Cub on floats (i nearly gave it a test flight on the lake in our backyard this morning!) Unfortunately i didnt quite get my new Mojo 60 ready - I was looking forward to tearing up the 3d zone with that! - it needs yet another roll of covering (thats 5 rolls of solafilm now = $125 bucks worth!). But anyway I might try and squeze the Funtana in the car to show the circuit flyers the error of thier ways. Catch ya there! |

Sounds like fun but I'm going to give it a miss... I haven't flown all winter and I'm afraid I've forgotten which way to push the sticks... also it just wouldn't be the same without my Funtana to stir up the old farts! Jeremy - good luck and let us know how you get on!

Just finished the last committee meeting before the event. All still on and prepped
![]() 3d runway is now 25m longer than last year (another 10m added Saturday) and with full clear approach both ways (Carpark has been moved to accommodate this). I will be bringing some pool noodles, streamers and balloons for a bit of hooliganism around the 3D arena anyone say Red Bull Foamy Racing? ![]() Need a trailer for the amount of models im taking!!!!! Jeremy, Do you have a 30-90sized sport model for doing the sportsman aerobatic routine at lunch for a promotional demo? We are trying to make it appeal to all by not having a large expensive aerobatic model go through the sequence. If not, Terry, could you fly the CMAC trainer through it? Alex

Sweet guys, one of you could fly it and one can call. I'll commentate over the PA.
There will be a scale routine demo also, and some solo spots. Maybe a joint 3D demo? ??? lol

I have access to a bunkroom facility in birdlings flat for the Sat night, couple of spaces available if people are interested. $20 for the night. First to get back to me first served.

Forsyth was good, the weather was kind to us (esp. on sunday) some nice models present and some good laughs were had.
I reckon i might propose a bit more of a timetable on the main flight line for next year: maybe large quick models between 10-10:30, slower biplanes and smaller models between 10:30-11 - that sort of thing, with general flying in between. i think it is quite cool seeing similar models flying at the same time. and some pilots maybe a bit more comfortable flying with other models all doing roughly the same speed. (clearly it would also give the large aerobatic modelers half an hour to tare up the sky without any groaning from the grey hair brigade!), but overall i had a good time - will def be back for next year. |

From what I heard there was some constant rule changes with the 3D area. Was a great day on Sunday and there was about 76 registered pilots :-)

84 registered in the end
![]() Yeah was a bit disapointed in a couple of individuals who undermined my authority in that area, the same people who appointed me as director in that area. Next year will be different. Anyone keen for an all aerobatic fly-in?

Yup as always I'm definitely keen for an all aerobatic / 3d fly-in. I think it should be kinda an invitation only event of such so we don't end up with the geriatrics there !!! lol
I would be happy to help you organize the 3d fly-in Alex as I'm sure would others ![]() I don't think next year will be any different at forsyth as it was worse this year than last year ! |

Right. So what date shall we organise this for?
I rekon it can be a general invite as we make the rules, and if people wish to fly, they will have to follow them

If you guys like you can promote it as a Chch "Freestyle Aerobatics Expo" and use the ad I drew up for the last two (or a modified version) We have one similar planned for later in the year in Dunedin but I see no reason we can't have another in Christchurch - who knows you may even get some of the Dunedin guys to finally come up here for a change?
this was last years banner, up to you guys - I'd happily modify it for you - would be good to get in the fliers world which is something we never got round to doing in the past... Up to you guys, I haven't exactly been the most active person in aeromodelling over the winter months but now that its starting to warm up again I'd be there to support you. Cheers Moped
