Default THUNDER TIGER TOC 40% PITTS MODEL 12

Hey guys, check out this link from Chief Aircraft. http://www.chiefaircraft.com/rcmsec/...l/Pitts40.html

This thing is a monster and considering the size, the plane is a great price as well. Just as a price comparison only, I beleive 3W is getting $4300 for their new Bulldog II with a 112" wingspan. Larry at Chief said a 150 should fly it fine, but for better power and 3D a 170 would really do the job.

Does anyone have any inside info on this plane? There is not a manual yet so it is kind of hard to see what construction looks like. The pics are pretty decent and Larry said it comes with a pretty heavy duty hardware package as well.

Now if I can only sell my NIB 30% SD Pitts. Anyone want one cheap??!!

Lets hear some input.

The construction looks to be like all the other ARF's out there. You should be fine.

I live near Chief, and had the opportunity to see the 40 % Pitts on Monday. I will be going back soon to take a closer look. It is a thing of beauty. Beautiful covering job, and excellent wood work.

I will post again after a closer look.

Hi Dale,
Thanks for the input. Please let us know what you find. If there is any chance you can take additional pictures to post, that would be awesome.

I am really considering this plane.

Thanks
Rick

Any word on whether "other" color schemes will be available, or better still an ARC?

Prologue...

Just checked out the Ace Hobby site ...

http://www.acehobby.com/ace/tt_toc.htm

They're showing a 40% Pitts 12 as being available, with a picture of one with the same color scheme as the 30% Pitts 12 .... but when you click on it you get taken to an "Under Construction" link.

Hey Garrett,
I have the blazing wings Pitts and starting to assemble it as we speak. There are some very quirky things and some quality issues, nothing major. All in all I think it will be a good flyer. PM or email if you want and I will be happy to discuss with you.

I want to try to keep this thread about the TT Pitts Model 12 40%

Happy Landings.

OK guys. I gotta say that a 170cc should do the job well.150cc if you are at sea level should be ok .But the 210 would probally make it like a foamy . Yes I will have more coming but right now we only have that scheme that chief is showing .Its is a huge plane should be a real crowd pleaser.

Hey Rocky,
Has there been a manual published yet? Would love to see it to get a better idea and inform myself before making a purchase. Thanks in advance.

Hey Guys,
I just pulled the trigger on one these. I guess I will be the guinny pig. Given the quality of there models, I think it is going to be a great flyer.

Rocky, if you please contact me at rvpinto@bellsouth.net I would like to get any and all info on this plane. Of particular concern would be CG and motor box thrust and horizontal center lines. Thanks

Ya'll can also take a look at www.chmodel.com There is a fellow there by the name of Chang and he has been giving up the info on his Model 12. I requested one uncovered and with the fiberglass parts unpainted. He's willing to do that. Contact him for pricing. I think you are able to negotiate pricing with him so I won't mention price at this time. He sent additional pics of the work and their factory...... Looks pretty good to me. The shipping costs are a riot, though........."Here. Lemme sell you this shipping deal and I'll give you a free plane!" LOL!
