I flew mine yesterday.
DL-50, Futaba Digital servos.
Plane is fun.

I didn't have enough time to dial the plane in, but in 3 flights it felt comfortable.

I need more elevator throw, it would harrier, but with like 45 deg I could not get a waterfall.
I also need to move the CG back a bit. I was just forward of the recommended CG, and it was a bit nose heavy.

Overall the plane flys great. It's fairly pattern like on low rates, and can wind up on High rates.

This may be CG related, but it did seem to have a bit of pitch and roll coupling, but completely KE capable.

The 1600 sq inches of wing really makes this sucker float. It will fly at 5 mph into NO wind.
And landing this bird in a non event. It just floats down, and gently touches the ground.

AS soon as I finish it, I'll have a full review up in the PP section.

My Question is, why did they design it with two servo's for the ailerons, most planes this size only have one.

Ailerons ARE HUGE, HUGE!!!!

Also, you can use cheaper servos. Two 150 oz or $120 oz servos should be fine.

well I finely got mine in the air I agree with sleepy on the way the plane flys the brison is plenty of power for the reactor and i did use the 3blade prop it is slower with it but very quiet vert. is unlimited but pull out although strong would be better with a 2 blade landing dead stick is also a none event . ran it out of gas low and had no problem geting it on the runway even with a tite turn dead to do so it does well off of grass wich is a good thing with the raked back gear I need more time to realy dial it in but I feel this plane will be a fun keeper

This is sounding great. I think this might be a good christmas present and a DL50. I already have a pitts muffler. Keep up the flying and give us good reports.

Anyone have pictures of them next to their Reactor.

With a DL-50 on standard muffler I got 16.7 lbs

What would a G-38 Zenoah do in this plane? I kind of know better, but that's what's not doing much right now. Looks like a really fun plane & I like the style of it too. Is the landing gear one piece, or the two piece like on the smaller Reactor?

well more flying today changed some throws helped in some manuvers but water falls are still lazy I am going to try flaperons next I used this kind of set up on my showtime the long tail moment on both planes are one reason water falls are slugish on upright harriers torque pushes my plane left and requires constant rudder input I am still useing the 3blade and don't know if this is a factor walls can be quite strong with no worry about structuer failyer on my last flyt some onethrew a metal sign stake on our field and of course I had to hit it nocking my tail weel off just bent the bracket no other damage. more later if the weather premits
