Totally forgot to mention. How about Ryan Gonsoulin finishing 2nd in Unl on his first year in Unl, and while needing to get home due to the storm coming to town so he can get his family out.
Top notch guy, congrats Ryan.

I appreciate everyone that posts free videos here and elsewhere, but most of them are so pixelated that the planes look like a bunch of little squares mashed together.
Thanks for the kind words and for noticing the difference that I hoped you would. I've gotten some really great emails over the last few days, especially from Europe where they are soaking up the coverage. I love RC and I love film, so FlightPass has become my passion. My wife would say my obsession. It's still a long way from supporting itself but hopefully that will come in time. (At least that's what I keep telling her). I just love doing it. Yes it's hard work standing in the sun all day staring at the viewfinder, but getting to see flights of this calibur and hang with the worlds best RC pilots is just TOO COOL! A dream come true for me. My only regret is that I can't film every flight. That would be my ultimate goal. To allow every pilot to watch every flight of the day that same evening. Or to go back and relive each flight post-contest and know what to tune and adjust. That will probably never happen. We live off of three hours of sleep as it is and only post about 20-30 flights per day. And I have yet to hire an assistant that can keep these small fast moving planes in the frame. But it's good to have goals. And it's really good to hear the effort is appreciated. Thanks.

BTW, I just wanted to say that I thought Andrew was amazing this weekend. He fenced his Freestyle plane on Thursday night and didn't let it get him down. He borrowed a plane and adapted. I kind of expected he would do that. What I didn't expect is that he would adopt his #1 fan Devan as his partner and caller for the ENTIRE weekend. This kid was with AJ just about every second and AJ was totally selfless and right there high-fiving and answering every question or comment Devan had. It was one of the most heart-warming things I have seen at an RC contest and I confess that I even got choked up a few times watching Devan squirm with obvious glee and excitement out on the flightline next to his hero. Very rich stuff. Andrew, you're a class act my friend.

Top notch guy, congrats Ryan.

Thats because he should have moved to Unlimited 3 years ago... Just ask the guys in Advanced he stomped on forever.

All kidding aside, he is flying really well and should do VERY well at Tucson.
Also, so everyone knows, he is shorter than me.

I talked to Ryan this morning.
All is well at his place. No power and lots of trees down on his property but other than that, they are all fine.
I also heard from Phil Oubre last night. He is fine also.

Hey Fred,

This statement is so true it makes me extremely proud to know Andrew. He's one of the nicest and most approachable young men I've met in the RC community, and I'm seriously blessed to know him and his family.

The happiness of Devon is one of the best memories I will bring home.....

What a great event... I think I am still tired.

John and Tina were amazing... New IMAC rule... pool and hot tub must be provided at all events!

A quick note about Seth's wing issue...... I was flying on the other flight line at the time....
I heard a strange noise......... and then I heard just general crowd noise behind me.......

I ask my caller (thanks David Stewart...... Clover Creek INT champ for your calling... I REALLY appreciate it!!)
and I quote...... "Is there something going on that I need to be made aware of.....?"

after a long delay (while Seth is flying around..... doing laps with one wing.....)

"Uhhhhhh.........nope.... nothing.... Next manuever... down figure P....."

about that time the judges tell me to abort and exit the box.... Yep... there was something going on!!!
Great job Seth!

Just an amazing weekend......

really can't put it in words....

I talked to Andrew about having Devon as his caller, and how much it meant to a lot of people to see that. Andrew told me " That is what this hobby is all about" What do you say to that ???? (Besides thank you)
