Anybody heard any rumblings out of the JR camp regarding a 14X 2.4 system? Futaba has a 14 channel system, how long will it be before JR does the same? Just imagine 14 channels available for a 40% plane, no more need for match boxes, servo matching devices, servo programmers etc, just plug them in and match them all through your radio...endless possibilities. Combine that with a similar system to an AR9100 receiver and you eliminate the need for power systems...heres to new technology!

A 16X was rumored to be near release years ago but, of course, never was. It would be interesting to know if it was back in the pipeline.

JR seems to be perpetually behind the channel race. LOL

About three years ago a pic of a "16X" touchscreen in a black case was on a "Japan Radio" website. (Not to be confused of the early pics of the 12X in a black & silver case) The info was in Japanese hieroglyphics with some English subtitles. The part I read was about the ability to plug in a DSC cable and use the touch screen to key in a different channel. (synthesized something or other) I bookmarked it but when I went back to it to show some flying buddies, it showed some sort of "404" error. I'm guessing it was on the Net for all of a nanosecond but I wasn't the only one that saw it. (This part above is true..... The part below is sheer BS!)
Oh yeah........ I remember, it had a sister system called "Infinite Channel." Any time a Futaba person came up bragging about how many channels their Futaba had, the JR Infinite Channel System automatically added two more channels ........ At last count there were exhausted Futaba guys laying on the ground and the JR Infinite Channel Radio was up to 840 channels with a wide screen TV and a jet pack to carry itself and the pilot to the flight line. Yep. Sheer BS and it ain't even April Fool's yet! BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! WT

Yeah, there is a guy from Austrailia named Gregory who is into ultra high end ($20k+) RC helicopters and he had some pics of what looked to be the 16X prototype as well as some other data on it. He always had bleeding edge info on many different cool RC products. Not sure how he gathered all of that info but he was a tremendous resource. I don't see him on the various forums anymore so I'm not sure what he's up to now. I do recall that the 16X was intended to be a spread spectrum system from its inception although it was not Spektrum/DSM. At that time I'm not even sure Paul Beard had established the airborne Spektrum RF scheme. I just wonder now if the early planning stages between JR/Spektrum/Horizon is what ultimately kept it from seeing release. Now that DSM is an established protocol, to say the least, maybe a DSM16X is something they might reconsider.
