Default IMAC plane?

I was thinking about upgrading to a 50cc gas plane, which one do you think is best for IMAC?
Thanks, Julian

Either a Extra 300 or a extra 260,, preferably a midwing to take out some of the coupling issues, I fly a 35% yak (excellent 3d plane and imacs decent),, I recently purchased a 40% Carden Extra 330, and it flys imac AWESOME<<

While I haven't flown it, I've heard a lot of good things about the H9 Carden Yak. Don't know if you remember Vince at Milford Imac (flew a 3.0 Meter Comp Arf Extra in Intermediate). He flew one and was very impressed. Vince goes by "whaturi" here on FG. Send him a P-mail and I'm sure he'll be glad to elaborate.

i think the extreme flight 88" yak or extra are the absolute best all around 50cc planes. they are true, they are straight and they present themselves like 100cc birds.

Extreme Flight extra 300 gets my vote. Flies IMAC like a much bigger plane and locks right in. Can't go wrong with Extreme Flight. Great service, quality, and flight performance.

If you have any questions let me know!

Interesting thought and one that I have as well....

The friend who got me interested in IMAC told me one day when I was considering my next plane and asked him about Yak vs. Extra vs. whatever; "Buy the one you like best as you'll probably fly a model you like, better than one you don't...."

Whether that is because you'll fly one you like more, or because your attitude about flying it is different makes no difference. The end result is the same and remember, it's more about how much stick time you put in than it is about which model you buy.

That being said, WildHare is a class operation and I've got nothing but good to say about Tom. While there may be other models that will fly slightly better, at your experience level I'd say it might be difficult to notice anything but substantal differences in flight characteristics of the various models available. I've got a 28% WildHare Extra I keep around since I can just put it in the Jeep without hooking up my trailer, and it fly's quite nicely. It's pretty light for it's size, has honest flight characteristics and the construction is first class. The prices are quite reasonable and the support is outstanding. I wouldn't hesitate to give 'em a recommendation...

Julian, I almost got the 28% wildhare 300 at one point. That plane looks to fly pretty well. That would be a good starter plane for IMAC in my opinion. Even though you don't like yaks, I do think that they fly the best in the 50cc class.

If you like it, the Wildhare would be a good choice. If you think you may buy a differrent Wildhare plane, please PM me. I have experience with one of them.

Are you going to get this plane together this year or next year?
