Flight Report: Aerotech 42% Extra 300!

Flew my new Aerotech 42% Extra 300 for the first time today. SWEET! This thing flies lite and tracks very well. Upline are straight and down line require only 1.5% mix. It apperas that mixing is required on both the pitch & roll axis but very little should be required. The snaps are very clean, this thing STOPS when you let go. The mid-wing presents well and makes rolls axial.

Overall: 10 out of 10. If any of you are considering a 40% ship, you owe it to yourself to seriously consider this model. John at Aerotech was a great help while I was building the kit and offers help whenever he can.

I have a feeling the Aerotech Extra 300 will be all over the IMAC scene very soon!

FYI Running Mejzlik 30-12, DA-150 w/ MTW cannisters and all Futaba equipment (9) 9152s (1) 9202 & (1) S148.

Ryan, Glad you like the 300, I like it so much I am thinking about selling my yak to have one of those built. Have to wait until after the NAts though, so I have a plane to practice and go to the NATS with. Glad you enjoy the plane.

Some additional info on the Aerotech Extra 300: For comparison purposes, it took 50 or so flights to get my 37% Aeroworks 300L where I wanted it. After only 6 flight with the Aerotech 300, I'm 80% there. Another dozen flights and it will be right where I need it. No doubt I could be competitive with it now!

Like I said. A great flying model.

I have never flown the Yak. It would be a shame to sell it as I'm sure it is a great flying model. But......if you decide to, you won't be disapointed with the 300!

O yeah Ryan, I know I wil be happy with the 300, Currently I am using John Nelon's 300 for my freestyle flights and it will also Serve as my back up plane for the NATS. Hope to see you there, I am planning on going to the Pensacola IMAc so I might see you there also.

flyguy667355 - congrate on 3rd in freestyle at the venice imac, i was very impressed with your freestlye. Keep up the good work and i will see you in a few weeks at the spring classics. Bring your A game as one of us needs to bring home the Grand Champion award this year. You have a great chance at it if you work on your freestyle a bit more. Give me a call if you need any hep with it. I am going to be practicing mine a bunch as I would really like to get that award this year.

40% CONGRATS on the 1st dude you were on fire... scared me a couple time...lol...jkjk..you were good no doubt you won...I will be working on it this weekend a little...I am more focused on persion as i will be going up agianst kenny...Your right though one of us needs to bring it home to aerotech...See you in few weeks...

Put in 3 more flights today. Added some weight to the right wingtip. Also changed the rudder - elevator mix a bit so rollers are better. Still a little mixing to go but it won't be long. This is by far the fastest I've been able to trim a model to where it is.

We flew ours the Sunday before the JR and had 8 flights before the contest. Mark Lessburg flew Johns at the end of the Venice IMAC on sat and did a clinic on setting up a new plane. He had it dialed in 10min. Im glad your happy with it. The interest level is awesome right now. Keep us posted.

John, its nice to see that these new 300s are taking off good. I like the plane so much, I may be calling you for a kit soon, haha, but wont get to it until after the NATS of course.

flyguy, you are correct somebody needs to bring that grand champion award home for Aerotech, hope it is either you or me, haha just thought, maybe your dad could do a freestyle and win it, just remember to tell him to watch out for the trees on take off. lol
