Default AR 9100 power and switching

Are the two pack inputs isolated ie they cannot feed into each other in the case that one is not exactly the same charge state when first turned on.

And does the soft swithch handle each pack input seperatly ie two internal switches operated by one external hard switch if you get my drift.

I'm used to running two packs two switches and dont want to lose that redundancy in amongst the new technology. Any thoughts?
