Rick, is that a Graph Tech gear? Can you provide a link to the gear you are using?

Phantoml,
You are doing the right thing, yes the epoxy used (on canopy horns) is not Hysol, I would guess its Zap epoxy or Deluxe Materiasl, when I dermmled it off it had that distinctive 'sweet' smell.

I made new double thickness carbon fibre 'horns' and put them in with Vpoxy (from BVM) I like it because it goes off quicker than Hysol but seems to be just as effective. I didn't put the second set of horns in but did the cut-outs in the bottom of fuse behind the end of cans, to relieve the pressure build-up in the fuse. Had 5 flights last weekend with this setup and it was perfect. This is all of course with the ugly repaired canopy !!

I am really interested to hear how you get on with the knife-edge coupling, I am finding it hard to adjust to it. I prefer not to have any active mixes if they are invasive.

I have now increased up thrust about 0.5 degrees and I think it is about 1 degree total now.
Knife edge has improved, mixing down to 8% for IMAC flying. More is required to fully compensate big rudder deflections.
I have only done 3 flights with this setup, will come with more info.

ulfsve NO graphtech is toy store stuff compaired to this, here is a link to the super gear "Yak", Very light and was built to handle a 40+ lbs aircraft. Only slight trimming at the fuse mounting point it's a little to wide 3/16

Rick,

from what I hear GraphTech are very good. Do you have personal experience of them?
And I don't understand; are you suggesting using a gear made for a 40+lbs aircraft for SU29 weighing only 27lbs? It will be way to stiff. I want a durable gear flexing a lot when needed.

Finally got mine flying. Only have three flights on it so far but I am liking it!

Did any of you guys have to adjust the incidence of the wing?

Thanks,

Jesper

Skysurf , how do you like the DA 85 in the Krill ? I am thinking that that is a Great Combo , light as heck and a lot of power ..

Well, it seems to me that it's a really good combo. I didn't have any balancing problems using the MTW canister and it dosen't seem to vibrate any more than the DA-100. Think the power should be close to the 100 as well.

Like I said, I haven't flown it very much yet, but I think I will really like it!

I made it from some of the same laminate that was used in the rest of the airplane (can be bought from Krill). Painted it with an airbrush. Will post a picture later tonight.

Hi skysurf!!

Very good looking bird!! I like it so much... it would be great if you posted a video of it, so we can see the power it has with the DA-85. It looks great.

Oh, another thing skysurf!! I see you mount a 3-blade prop... does it have enough thrust for 3D??
