I will do a write up tonight about building and test flight.Stay tuned..
Just in case you are wondering, wing area of SU is 2082 sq.in, AW 260 about 1860. RTF weight is 26 lbs and 9oz.

Alright, so her it goes:
after opening two boxes, there was a very nicely packed fuselage, elevators and rudder, together with some hardware and few other things.Wings do come in separate box.
after taking some pics, I got to start to put things together.
First was the engine.DA 100 with reg mufflers..because I have them.My kit didn't have any templates for drilling holes,( from now on they are part of every kit ) so I simply find a center of firewall, off set the engine about 3/8" to the right and drilled holes for blind nuts. I did use 2 1/2" stand offs, this gives me about 1" clearance between the cowl and prop. I might even try to go with 3" offsets later on,just to find out if it makes any difference. Cowl was cut out for mufflers and some holes were made for exiting air, but will probably have to make more.
Next was installing servos in stab. That was a bit of hassle, because half ribs with cut outs for servos are about 5" deep inside and of course cut outs were CNC for JR servos. And since I used Hitec, I had use a rasp to enlarge openings. I brought this problem up with Krill model and it has been fixed.
Next was aileron servo installation. Servos are mounted on a ply plate , which already has mounting blocks glued to it and a whole unit is attached to the wings with 4 screws.Very simple and efective.
Next were rudder servos.Nothing tricky here, because rudder tray is already mounted from factory.
Installing main gear takes a whole 2 minutes. My plane didn't come with wheel pants. I don't like the looks of SU 29 with them, as I feel airplane should use so called "russian wheel pants". But since they are not available,I will make them myself...and maybe make a mold and offer them fo those who might be interested.
Tail wheel...again I didn't get mine from them and I think it was a mistake.I does require somewhat different shape and Krill has made one just for this plane. So make sure you order one with the kit.
Control horns...specially aileron ones require some attention when being glued. Remember this is a upper surface hinge and distance to pivot point has to be measured from there. Hinge slots are precut for you on all surfaces.
And that's about all about installing components.
I don't have to mention push rods and pull pull cables, servo extensions..that's all straight forward.
But few things I'd like to mention and this is why I think this plane stands out so much:
-From now on, all Krill 39% an SU 29 33% come with seam on top of the fuselage filled and painted. That's right, there is no visible seam there.
-incidence is set up for you at 0-0-0.
-landing gear is ready for installation
- canopy is mounted. Mine came with silver f/g, but clear ones are now available as well.
- cowl is installed for you as well. Uses 6 screws.
-fuel tank is glued in,right above the wing tube.
One thing worth mentioning is that there is no tube sleeve inside fuselage. It uses so called floating spar..works just fine. Wings are held in place with 4 bolts.
And so it doesn't seem like there are only good things about this plane, here is few of them that I wasn't too crazy about:
have a look at the picture of cowl, where you can see red star. Visible seam....this one is not going to be fix and this is what you will get. Some people don't care, some do. Just doesn't look perfect with top seam invisible. That's something to consider when choosing paint scheme..on some of them it's not as noticeable.
Rudder need some relieve on bottom to achieve max. throws...has been brought up to manufacturer as well.
Location for drilling holes in stabs for screws to hold them in place..again this was brought up with them and fixed.
Now to what I used :
DA 100, reg. mufflers
8 digital servos, JR and Hitec
Futaba 149 rec.
2400 mAh NiCads for servos
1700 mAh for ignition.
2 x JR heavy duty switches
2 x JR Match box
With this set up , scale shows 26 lbs and 9 oz.
CG came right on the middle of wing tube without batteries. So that are mounted right beside fuel tank and airplane feel just fine with this set up.
I might switch to A 123 over winter, so I will probably save few oz there.
There is plenty of room for canisters, but Grieves pipes will not fit, unless you do some major digging around servo tray.
In flight, plane took of and there was no need for any aileron trim, and just two clicks of up elevator. Engine has right thrust 3 degrees, might need more for 3 blade prop.
I have some people asking about using DA 85 for power...after 4 flights I'm not sure this engine would pull it with any authority. But that's just my observation.
So to summarize this:
SU 29 is very nice looking airplane and being SU fan this thing just fit my needs. With wing area close to 2100 sq.inch it floats like a glider. For sure it's not cheap by today standards, but you just can't compare this with wooden kits.
As I put more flight on, I will report back.
Cheers.
If you have questions, I'll gladly answer them.

Just asking, what's the weight of DA100 with reg. mufflers?

Joenella,
from DA website, engine is 5.8lbs. I have no idea how much those mufflers weight...never had it on scale. Maybe 3oz each...just guessing.Hopefully someone else will jump in with right answer.

Hi there! I'm planning to get this one in autumn, since i'll put all my money (a year payment in LHS) in it, i'd like to know is this plane really worth it, or i'd just have to wait untill guys fix all misses? So as far as i understand, tailweel is not included, nor weelpants, what else should i care of buying as an additional? This plane for me will be the limit, and i'll use it for climbing (atleast trying) into aerobatic world as a competition flyer. It's just my dream that has to be realised. I think about engine very much, scince i'm from Latvia (Europe, Baltic states) It's way easyer for me to get an MVVS, whitch states more power, and some features thay i like above DA, but the weight of MVVS is the enemy, or i think too much, and DA 100 Does it all? The idea was to put MVVS 116 with canisters in it. Now i'm considering using MVVS 85 in it, but again, scince it's 1 cylinder- more vibration, but less problems. and still 85 one states more power than DA100. I'm not that rich at all, to eperiment with 1000+ euro engines, just to find the right one, so i wouldn't like to miss something..
Please help me with decision. I think i've flown enough now, to start travelling arround, and compete, thats just what i've always dreamed off, help will be really appreaciated!
Thanks in advance! Andrew.

Hi Dron,

if you go here, you will see what options you have when ordering:
http://www.krill-model.com/pdf/pdf-48b6c9c50e871.pdf
To answer your questions: I didn't get wheel pants because I don't like them on this plane. However they are included in every kit.Tail wheel is not,it's extra.
As to engine, one of these planes also flew with DL 100, so it might be a cheaper alternative to DA. MVVS 116 is way too much for this plane and you are right about vibration from any one cylinder engine.Since it's a composite plane I would concentrate on two cylinders.
I just put another 5 flight on today and it's getting better after each flight, I mean trimming and tuning.

Hi Dron
Well I picking up one of these babies late Oct, and I gonna use a ZDZ 80RV-J, this engine has more than enough power and vibration aren't to bad either.
I have been running 2 of these engines the last 2 years, one in a wooden plane and one in KRILL VELOX both with great succes.
For an european it is must cheaper to buy a ZDZ - MVVS or 3W engine as they are made in europe, I know what I would stick too.

Thanks! I'm hunting for best plane's performance. It's not wise IMO to get the DL one, scince it's chinese engine- lower quality materials are used, whitch means shorter life, and a lot of hasstle when it gets older, and older. I want to get the one, that doesn't bother me with problems. So how is DA on it? Enough? Maybee you've got a video of a vert. performance out of hoover? So you think MVVS will be overkill? What i like about it, is that ConJet needle system, and fuel distribution over cylinders.
About ZDZ's, i have 50cc one, well, it runs fine, everything is good, but i don't like the weight of it, it's just way too heavy as 50cc'er, and the quality of casting didn't impress me at all for money I spent on it.
