Everyone is welcome to visit us at our location to see our planes. Please email or call to make an apointment.

I think we are talking @ 2 different airplanes. The red & white plane says 42% and it has flying wires, The Pitts you offer is not 42% nor has flying wires. I

I would have to think the Bi-Plane over the years has gotten a bad reputation in IMAC from some of the above stated things like coupling issues etc. Some of the Bipes today, like QQ's Python or even better his new TI-12 fly better than some mono wings out there. Its just the reputation that hurts. A pilot gets up on the flight line with a bipe and the judges automatically have it in their head that this thing can't fly like a mono (from their past experience - which is understandable) and the pilot is already downgraded before he even takes off. I think some of the new Bipe designs coming out are going to be superior to the mono winged planes. Just hope its reputation goes away. I watched QQ perform at the Tucson Shootout this year with his TI-12 and I personally felt like he had some of the best sequences.

Its almost the same as the ARF versus KIT thing seemed to be. If a pilot showed up on the flightline with an ARF, it was almost like a pilot was automatically downgraded because judges had it in their mind that this "ARF" can't possibly fly as well as a "KIT". Of course, with todays technology, many of the "ARFs" out there today fly just as well if not better than some of the "KITS"

Hopefully we will see more people flying Bipes this year and more people will see that a bipe can in fact fly as well if not better than a mono. I would absolutely love to see a half a dozen bipes, no matter the manufacturer, show up for IMAC contests this year. I think some of the leading pilots like Quique, Jason, etc are on to something.

I think we are trending this way as we have run out of monoplanes to produce in various manners. It is just about working with the numbers and getting them right, eventually things will come together. Sorta like when the Ultimate hit the market.

I have the H-9 46% Ultimate and QQ 100cc Python and I can tell you I prefer them over any mono airframe out there today. Just my two cents worth.

I think bipes have a much better presentation. Much more so than a mono. If a pilot can do a maneuver well, it just looks amazingly awesome but if it is done wrong, it think it tends to exagerate the mistake - just the way it presents.

The Pitts in the customer projects is ours. The yellow has been assembled for taking pictures without flying wires, but they all come with them. Our Pitts are 95" wingspan

Flew the QQ Python yesterday for the first time in a few months, It still fly's like I remember, and is like your favorite pair of shoes , just feels so good and is right there for you. roll's and knife edge are as good as the pilot, if you can not score in IMAC with this , it is no fault of the airplane. Knife edge loops are almost as easy as standard loops.

It does show that with enough knowledge a biplane can be designed that is as good as the mono planes.

I am waiting for QQ to release the Ti 12 in a 50cc size, should make a great electric conversion

Hey guys....

I just wanted to get in on the Biplane thread. I have an all composite/airbrushed fuse Columbo Anderson 34% Pitts stinker. I don't know if i'll have a chance to get it going by this next summer , as i have to many other birds waiting for motors and electronics. BUT....looking at this bird , it will at the top of my pride and joy list when i do finally get her going. Thought i'd post a couple pictures of what my airplane looks like from these stock photos.

This is exactly why QQ and Kimballs did the rights agreement. In today's environment it is not cost effective to put the time and money into development to have your work given to anybody who wants it. This is not controlled overseas so it must be controlled over here in some manner. If you want to see companies like QQ's come out with more advancements like this it will have to be with some sort of safegaurds installed for their investment.
I know I push this message alot, it is because I know first hand and I wish to see companies such as QQ's succeed.

Well, I really like my H9 Ultimate, and since I am a bit crazy too,I have started to build a 92% Ultimate, using the 46% H9 as a guide. Will be powered by a 3W 520cc engine. Once I get it together I will post pics in a new thread here at FG. Until then, I hope Mr Hempel will build a Ultimate powerd by the 3W 275. Would be on the top of my wishlist.
