Mike,

Not exactly correct. I have licensed QQAC exclusively to build and offer RC models of the Pitts Model 12, Python, Ti-12, and a few more airplanes yet to be announced to the public. We have copyrights on all these color schemes and shapes as well as trademarks on the names and logos (Honestly, I am surprised other companies like Extra, Zivko, MX Aircraft, Piper, Lockheed, etc. are not more involved in RC licensing of their trademarks). The licenses we have with QQAC include the use of the shapes, names, logos and schemes. So, any of these airplanes offered by other manufacturers are technically in viloation of trademark and copyright laws. It is up to QQAC to decide if they wish to block the sale of these airplanes, names and schemes by other makers. Quique and Wayne are great guys so I don't think they will unless someone is clearly trying to knock off what they are making like what happened with the 69" yak.

If I recall correctly, the RC model Ti-12 Quique has is a different size than the kit Bob offers. The one Quique had at TAS was designed for the DA200 not the DA150 airplane Bob kits. So, Quique's model is not just one of the kits with a few mods....It is a different airframe of different dimensions, features and structure. Sometimes when simply looking at something in photos, many details are missed.

Nice! Wow - my Pitts is short coupled
That Reed Falcon might make a very nice IMAC plane and it doesn't look like everything else out there. Cool suggestion!

Jim - thanks for the clarifications. I think I saw a post that QQ's first big Python with the 200 was a Bob Truworthy 41% kit that had been modified (who knows how much.) Then I saw another post saying his Ti-12 was that original 200cc with a new scheme and new wing tips. The QQ posted it was a scratch build... Probably only a handfull know and it doesn't really matter. Both those planes are awesome.

I am feeling a Hempel Bipe in my future

MikeC3D,
Kevin is correct. Quique's Ti-12 is not one of my kits with mods.
Quique used my plans only as a starting point. We completely redesigned the airframe and wings. It looks the same but it's not.
It was designed around the DA-200.

Bill, what is your opinion of the Hanger 9 Ultimate Design on a scale of 1-10. What would you change about it? Maybe a better question is, What do you look for in an Ultimate design that really "turns your crank". I've "heard" that QQ likes the S-12's round cowel because it is easier to roll. (less feedback from the fus. design). Do you find this to be true? Sorry for the barrage of questions but I'm very interested in the difference between the two. Lets face it, for me the Ultimate is the nicer looking biplane, but I've learned that I'd rather have a great flying LIGHTplane. Don't get me wrong, I've never owned an Ultimate. The last bipe I owned was a DV. I'm just looking for your expert opinion on the differences between the two.

Whatever....I wish I would have kept all of the emails you guys sent me describing this information to me, now you changed your stories because I stated that it would be easy to duplicate, from a modified kit, how quaint.

KKimble, China doesnt have copyright laws, as evident in all of the knock off's out there, and how can you have the rights to the m-12 that has been modeled for many years. There have been a few other reputable companies with Pitt's M-12's, Pythons out for some time now, so are they all in violation of these so called rights to models. I dont understand how this could be, is TT in violation with there new M-12 version. or How about Comp Arf with their M-12 or python versions. Also isnt it true that if just one simple thing is changed, a demintion, or some change that would make it not an "EXACT" replica be considered ok?

Mr. Trueworthy, You told me yourself that these where your kits that YOU built for QQ with modifications of his specific's, and that you could not share the mods other than the obvious. I talked to QQ personally on the phone about the larger Python when he flew it at NALL in 06, when he was advertising 75cc,100cc,and 150cc. He told me that you had custom built YOUR Kit to his specific modifications. Now you guys are saying that what Im saying is not true, that is just so wrong in many ways. I have absolutely no reason to make up stuff or report obscure information that I recieved in the venture of a big Biplane as a Hobbiest with a passion for this particular model. I do not wish to argue about this, I just dont like being called a liar!

Mike,

I haven't seen where you have been called a liar with respect to the subject of the model 12, python, Ti-12, etc. I do see where myself and others have made attempts to correct misunderstandings you and others may have about these airplanes. I would be more than happy to explain these issues to you in greater detail. Drop me a PM with your phone number and I will give you a call to chat about it at a time that is good for you. Or if you prefer, I can continue the discussion here in this thread. Let me know.
