Flyin with Mcconville and the Champaign crew!

Whats up guys! Just wanted to share some videos and a short story of me and
my buddy Chads awesome day of flying in Monticello, IL last saturday!
Our day started around 8:30AM last saturday morning, as we headed out
from St. Louis on our way to the New field in Monticello IL. We had a bit of a
"detour", thanks to that crazy little screen that tells you where to go...(thanks
alot GPS!!!) We pulled into the club parking lot around 11:30AM. Our first
impressions were as follows....: WOW!!!!
The field that they are building up there is STATE OF THE ART! absalutely beautiful!
I only wish I had gotten more pictures. Truth is, we were so busy flying and talking
to our new friends that I totally forgot to grab the camera from the car
Before I post the videos, I want to thank everyone that was there SO MUCH
for allowing Chad and I to come fly at the new field...Everyone that we talked to
was soooo nice! All of the guys from Horizon....: YOU ROCK!!! cant wait to fly with
you again!
I had never met Mike Mcconville before this weekend, But I sure wish I would have
met him sooner! Him and his wife Janet are such awesome people.
When people like me (the nobodys:-) get to even TALK to guys like Mike, Its really
an awesome experience. It's cool to hang out with your favorite celebrities!!!
Chad did a great job filming some of the flying while we were up there...
I only wish that I would have grabbed chad's video camera when HE was flying to get some video of his new Hangar 9 33% Sukhoi! Sorry Chad! theres always next time!

The field is already amazing, and they still haave alot more to build.
Mike, we definately love to fly! If I could live at the field and sleep under my plane,
i certainly would! I cant imagine my wife and daughter allowing me to go
quite THAT far....I will push the limit though cant wait to get back up there
and see the progress again!

hehe yep that 200 sounds killer doesnt it! I cant wait to get back up to that field again.
Mikes landing was forced...the DA-200 suddenly lost power, and he couldnt bring it around again. it just so happend that the Giant DC-3 had just touched down, and
didnt have enough groundspeed to lift off again. Luckily, Mike's awesome piloting
skills allowed him to pull up enough to get over the DC-3 and land safely
past it.
