Default Night flight help / setup thread.

Hey FG.

Over the past few weeks I have been building a hobby-lobby miss stik kit for night flight. I'm almost done with it and have a few questions about the setup. For lights I'm going to be using 6 60" Align light strips and 3 Align light drivers, and covering it in doculam, (clear covering) and mounting the lights inside.

The main question I have is will the lights and/or drivers cause RF noise? There's going to be 4 strips going down the length of the fuse and the antenna is zigzagging down the center. As I was mounting the lights I started thinking about RF noise. I'm hoping that the antenna not being exactly parallel to the lights will prevent problems.

The setup. RX is a berg 4 ch micro stamp, 450 eflite motor, 2-3 cell 2100 - 4200 mah pack (hoping for long flights ), and HS 56 servos. And if it makes any difference the lights are not on the same power system.

Now for all who are interested, I will try to have a pictures up in the next few days. I'm making this plane as a "hang out with friends and pass around the TX" plane.

Any advice / constructive criticism welcome.

UPDATE:

I have a few pictures of the plane, and what I have done so far. Sorry the pictures are so bad, I took them with my video camera.

The fuse on the work bench.

Picture of the zigzag antenna.

The wing.

And the plane, with my blender by it for size.

I haven't had any problems with them causing RF noise. Plus the berg receiver should filter that out, and keep control solid.

I think you may have more light and weight than you need with 6 runs. I would suggest less glow wire and perhaps a few LEDs on another circuit. If one sytem fails you still have some light on it. Plus the LEDs are a nice contrast at the wingtips or rudder to help visibility.
