I looked up his invoice and what he did not say was that in the box with the prop was a 50 foot piece of wire from Air Wild. I did a price check today and above is what i got. Tec was charged 10.83. If you are going to badmouth a company please give all the facts.

I believe I have the epitome of overcharged shipping. Several months ago I won the bid on e-bay for a 50cc no name Ultimate Bipe ARF. The seller was toyfina. I won the auction for $3.75. Yes, that is three dollars and seventy five cents. The shipping was $180.00 and they had the nerve to charge a mandatory extra five dollars for insurance. The plane came in one box. I still got a good price. Bottom line is the seller paid absolutely no fees on that shipping charge. That is what alot of sellers are now doing on ebay to try to save on fees.

I checked shipping using the same carrier they used which was ups. The quote was $47.85. That is how they made their money.

That is what you call a raquet. Not complaining as I still got the plane for a good price.

Who cares. If you are too petty to suck up a couple bucks to ship somthing than your in the wrong hobby. Call whine11 and get a whaaaambulance if it hurts so bad. Besides nobody is being forced to buy anything. This is truly a worthless thread topic. Dont be a chaep @$$. You spend how many thousands on each plane yet act petty over $20.00 bucks to ship somthing. And you work for a fortune 500 company???? Im sure theyt didnt make it to that status by being cheap. Shut up and fly. I just gave up a very large chunk of cash to help my club build a new flying site because we kept getting the run around about the future of our previous site. Cause thats what it takes. It was more than i wanted to spend but thats what it took to make it happen. This hobby will get more expensive as time goes on. Get used to it before it drops like a bomb. I know it helps to pinch penneys when times are tough but this hobby is a exception to the rules when it come to being thrifty. Ive been there, i know first hand. I stepped it up and sucked it up. So can the rest of em. Be thankful it doesnt cost more to ship stuff. Be thankful that we still have shipping period. Especially with the way our economy is plus all the Hurricanes lately. Shipping company's are dropping like flys. It wont be long before you see companys lik DHL completely go out of business. They just shut down a large percentage of locations. Stay focused on the big picture, enjoying life.

If you are shopping on eBay (or anywhere) you need to look at the total cost including shipping. Many eBay sellers sell the item low and charge high shipping to save on listing and final value fees. That is the American Way!!! Beat the system.

As far as charging actual shipping, some don't realize the expenses beyond the UPS, USPS charges. For example, I charge $9.95 to ship a foamy. Every kit I ship gets an extra wrap of cardboard to protect it from damage. There are time and materials involved that ad up quick.

I agree there are some that charge excessively, but the bottom line is, if it's too much, don't buy it!!!

Again someone has to make something personal. Go figure you just can't vote and say you like or dislike the issue without beating someone up. Good luck in life.

I can see a business charging a little extra in shipping fees (if they want to) due to them having to pay someone to pack it up. But for the rest of us when selling an item we no longer need, charging extra for your time to pack it up, drive to the post office (or where ever), etc. seems strange. Now by all means charge for the bubble wrap, box, etc. needed to package it up. Your time is an investment to help a fellow RCer out by offering him an item (you no longer need) at a decent price (that you are willing to sell it for) and charging the actual charges needed to ship the item. Do you charge to help a fellow RCer out to tune his engine or tips to help them fly better, then why charge for your time to pack and delivery to the shipper of choice. That is just my opinion and that is what I do when selling items.
