Default Discharge rate for 6volt nimh.

I have a multiplex charger and was wondering what discharge rate I should set it at for 6volt nimh. It has values from .10 amp on up. Also to charge it what should I charge it at. They are 1650nimh so should I charge them at 1.6amp. I am use to using the sirus charger that does it automatically. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

charge rate = 35% so .6 amp should be safe and keep batts cool !
discharge rate could be roughly half of estimated servo draw again should be safe and give some idea as to how batteries are doing.

Nimh packs need to be carefully formed just like nicad. It also depends on the size of the individual cell. If this is a trans pack with 8 cells they are quite fragile. On my tx packs, 1650's both of them, I never use a peek charger. I form them with 3 cycles. Charge at .125 and discharge at .2. Yes it takes a while but I'm retired and have the time. I have a wall wort that I use for them that puts out .1 and thats what I use. When I'm forming a pack this way I charge until there is a slight increase in the temp of the pack. Then I know it is fully chaged. Then I discharge with my Bantam BC6 at a rate of .2 or .3, with 1 volt per cell as the cut off. Once formed I get about 5-6 hours per charge. I run my tx down to 9.6 volts before I charge the pack again.
On the larger cells that I use for my flight packs I form them in the same way but after about 3 cycles of slow careful charging and discharging I charge at .4 with my BC6. There is a lot of very good info on this site: http://www.hangtimes.com
Hope this helps.
