Awesome work Rob, the pipe holders are SWEET! I can't see any problems with cooling, that's a lot more exit space than my 260. I wonder how it would fly without covering, just a little saran wrap.LOL

Defiantly not upset. Apparently I wasn't paying my builder enough. Flies great at 39.5, I bet it is wicked at 38, with a 170, that's just crazy. I already don't go to full throttle on certain uplines!!!!!

Pride not really sure about any problems. I've been running my 170 with the greves for a while now with no problems, unless you count the gobs of power they gave me. I started running it right after Nats, and have alot of run time on it.

Some have been blowing the heads. I think most of them were using a 30/12 or a 32/10 prop. Tony R. thinks the RMPS are just stupid high.

Do you mean PMS??LOL, the heads are blowing because of the guys turning the little 30x12 props. I'm spinning the 32x10 on my plane right at about 6150 RPM. I'm temping the outermost fin on the jug and getting a temp of about 155 to 160.

Pride,

I believe the only problems people were having were on the prototype version of the motor. I had the prototype version 170. Last Monday I sent it in for service instead of waiting. I had the engine back on Thursday. In short, my motor was brought up to the current standards which have a few new components, mainly different cylinders and a new hub with 6 mm bolts. I flew the engine yesterday turning 6080 rpms on the 29x12 Mej. Even back on the lawn-boy mixture, I couldn't tell a difference in the performance before and after. The motor and service from DA rocks!!!
Thanks,
Jim

Very nice work Rob!!! The laser cut parts look great.

Brian, Stephen, Don, Jim,
It's great to know that all the painstaking measures ole Rob the Builder goes through to get that little extra amount of performance are going to pilots with the skills to fly these things to their full potential.

Looking forward seeing everyone this weekend.

Steve
