32x10 is what I have been running but, its pretty loud.
My 1st 170 was not as loud as this new one I have.

Stay with the 30x12 ...good choice. The 32x10 doesnt have enough speed, and doesnt have the same throttle responce the 30x12 has. I have seen the difference in these two, and the 30x12 amazingly pulls the plane much faster, and mine w/32x10, i am hovering right at idle, the 30x12 gives better throttle control. IMO

Carlos.... I have always been using a Mezjlik 29x12N 3 blade prop with MTW 110 mufflers.
It works for me and not loud like the 2 blade props. Wayne |

Interesting... Not at all what I have found. Take a look at this video of Jesky flying my Godfrey with a 32x10 Mejzlik.

30x12 isnt enough prop for the 170, especially on pipes. If you want to run a 2 blade, run the 32x10.

The 30x12 is the prop J.Noll uses, and quite well I might add. He showed us the difference in Tulsa at the HeatWave, on his 40% AW Yak,170 and Greeves. Then my Bro Brett changed his to the 30x12 from the 32x10 and it woke that plane up, he is an IMAC freak and J.Noll worked with him and his new Carden 330 for hours. my bro J.Danhakl flew my new Yak, He and J.Noll both said I needed to change mine to the 30x12 and it will be a total different animal. Now, you have to realize both of these planes are custom lightened airframes, my 40% yak only weighs 36lbs, and Brett's is 34lbs. That may be the difference between ours and yours,IDK, but we like the 30x12 better. Also Bob is now using the 26x12 Mejzlik on his 100 and likes it better also, than the larger 27" prop. It works for us, I suggest just trying different props until you find the right combo for your plane and you. Good luck.....

Jason is also using shorter headers than what DA says to run for the 170.

I agree, I'm running the 32x10 Mejzlik and am very pleased. I am getting about 6150 RPM consistantly, and I only have about six gallons through this one.
