Just wondering who you thinks the best 3d/freestyle pilot. I've got to give my vote to the baddest mother hucker ever, Andrew (Animal) Jesky. Bad Ass.

I agree 50%, Kyle is one unbelievable freestyle pilot. He has been down to the DOD fly-in the past two years and he just makes everything look so effortless no matter what the plane is doing.

Well based in my short circle of exposure to pilots- the BEST- eye-popping, jaw dropping with HUCKER as a middle name would have to go (IMHO) to Doug ***** a.k.a. VOO DOO Child!
His flying ilk is one of the main reasons the Florida Freestyle Aerobatics Association came about! Hey- If your guy doesn't have grass stains on his wing tips from ground level blenders and gator poop-scootin' knife edge passes- I suggest you keep hunting! To sum his flying up... This boy just ain't right in the head; with the routines he challenges your optical nerves to sort out!

I have to be biased and say the kid from my home town impresses me every time I talk to him or see him fly the wheel pants off his planes or helis. Always polite and professional.... Nick Maxwell....!!!

I enjoy watching Kyle and QQ fly the most. Clearly QQ has a well polished and mature FS Sequence... but Kyle flies like I like and like I try to fly myself....
And like the crowd likes... clearly the winner for crowd appeal. But.. have you ever watched Chip Hyde fly someone elses plane!??!?! I watched him fly OPP's on two occasions.. (QQ102's) and it was some of the most entertaining flying I ever saw. If Chip had a creative consultant to help him put together a freestyle, I think he would be hard to beat... Still! Incidently.. there will be a "AirShow Tournement" at the Woody's Wild Wings III in El Centro California... 5 minutes to music.. and tpuching the ground is OK!!! Low pressure fun event to see how crazy people can be!!! |

Man there are so many choices.
I think you could take the top 10 list from the TAS and fight between these guys all day long. Heck I wish I had 1/2 the skills of the top 20 guys!

I am going to say this without any disrespect meant. After being at last year's TAS, Clover Creek this year, and watching videos from all over, freestyle flying become a little too structured. Pilot's have to put all the different criteria together in order to score well and this is an attempt to take away some of the subjectiveness out of it, which is good. What has happened to a certain degree is that a guy comes up with a routine and it scores well, they stick with it. They might tweek it a little but it is the same routine for a couple years. As my buddies and I were sitting at clovercreek we could start naming when the music was going to change and call the next maneuver. I am not bashing the competitors in any way, this is what they have to do in order to score well. Just my observations. Flamesuit on.
