Hey guys, I havent posted in a while and I thought I would chime in on a thought I had. Do you think its possible to fit a da 200 in the 3m comp arf extra 260??? I for a fact that the weight up front would be good and I was just wondering if it would fit Anyone have the dimensions???

Not without cutting the firewall back some. Why would you want to put a 200 anyway ? A 150 or 170 on pipes will give you more power than you'll ever need.

Have you priced a 200? The sound is awesome but my understanding is that they are made to order. I have not heard from anyone official but I heard over $4000. You could get a 170, pipes and servos for that.

I emailed Jeff at Da this week asking about the 200.
They are not available to sell.

I wanted it for the cool factor, I thought that you might have to cut the fire wally back which would be a task, If it really sells for around 4k then nevermind I thought they would sell for around 2k. They might sell it in the future thats why I thought about it.

An Aerrow 200 will fly an NA50 USRA raceplane 246 mph....
Same engine is one of our old Lancairs would probably hit 250, the experimental class is no longer flown....
Might be hard to keep the wings on one of those other airplanes not made for that speed...
usrainfo.org
A modified DA150 hits about 210 in a P51...

Do you guys think that it would fit in the cowl of an aeroworks yak??? I have a 150 on greeves in there right now. I plan on getting a compy 260 and I was thinking if the opportunity arrose I would like the idea of a 4cyl.

The weight of the motor and the weight of the mods to the firewall would only detract from the perfromance of the 260. A 150 on pipes or cans is more then enough for this plane for any thing you want to do. As for needing the weight up front thats not true. As long as you make the tray to sit in behind the firewall(easy job) with your RX batts, ignition batt and ignition as well as a throttle servo the CG will come out at about the perfect spot for IMAC and if you plan on doing a lot of 3D then you might even want to move it back a bit. Stick with a 150 or maybe the 170

I was speaking of my last experience before I crashed the 260 I had to add a bunch of weight to the nose to be at 95, Did you mean the fuel tank tray should be mounted forward of the the wing tube because I did everything short of that, I also had the engine spaced out to and the heavy tru turn back plate. I did had greeves though and I suspect that had a good deal to do with it.
