I know the dudes selling that airframe, it is a comapny called Glidescope RC here in St. Louis. Ther are cool dudes and run a LHS out here, I have bought stuff from them. My buddy Tj flies a 50 cc yak they sell like this one and he can fly the crap out of it. I have seen this aircraft and I can say it is a quality airframe, well built and I would give the covering job an 8/10 for an ARF, I would give it higher but it is not ultracoat which I like. As far as 3D ability, I have picked up the airframe, it is very very light, I would be suprised if if got anywhere near 30 LBS flying weight.

Wing Loading:
121.8 (square decimeters) = 1887.90378 square inches Wing loading = (Weight (lbs) x 2304) ÷ Wing Area (in) Where weight is in pounds and wing area is in square inches ( 30.0 x 2304 ) ÷ 1887 = 36.612 oz./ft2 Seems close to other 100cc 3D aircraft, and this is at the top of its weight envelope, built correctly it will 3D fine IMO. You really cant beat that price for a 100cc yak...i've heard pretty decent things
about these airframes too. I havent met the guys that run Glidescope, but I've heard that they are cool dudes and are super easy to work with. Crash-N-burn, I'm having a huge brain fart here...Have we met before? I have a feeling that we have, but i have the worst memory of anyone... Where do you fly in St. Louis? |

Yea man we met at River City when Buder was flooded. I fly the Extreme Flight 50cc Extra 300. I saw you gave up the Katana for an extra, I was watching your flying vids on STL Flyer, nicely done as usual. |

AAAH yes! thats right, I totally remember you now. Yeah that katana was too damn heavy. I had to fight to keep it flying, and it became more trouble than it was worth. I actually bought a Hangar9 35% extra 260 to replace the katana.
Now i'm having more fun than i've ever had flying! this plane freakin ROCKS! We need to get together and fly soon. How is the Extra flying? |

Ha ya beat me to it I just edited my post b/c I remembered it was an Extra. I am on extra #2, lost the 1st to radio failure, my second is flying well, just got done fixing minor damage when I dorked it in on a harrier. I am out of flying for the next week b/c my JR 12x is at horizon for warrenty service. Yea man It would be cool to get together for some flights, maybe your 3D skills will rub off on me, I'm still learning. I'll send you a PM with my contact info, my buddy Tj would prob also like to fly he's real good. |

Tj flew a Lanier Edge 540, now he has a Yak like the 100cc one the OP was talking about. He got it from Glidescope Rc and flies the crap out of it. Here is a pic i think says it all. Back to the OP's point, that 100 CC yak is well built and set up correctly will fly very well.
This is a "Kick Start" |

Cant see any reason to buy one at those prices, you can find SD Yaks at the same price and they are bigger and quite a bit ligher. ACE is the distributor now although pretty much the same product should be available from Troy in '09 as a Pilot 1 plane, from some of the same Chinese people involved in SD's
