I was thinking more like 4 contests. If your statistic is correct, I am in the vast majority not ever dreaming of hitting 6 contests in a year.

I agree that 3 contests is too few. The points competition should (1) encourage people to attend contests and (2) reward those who do. While there is no perfect number, it needs to be high enough to be a little bit of a reach to serve as an incentive and reward, and to level out the distorting effect a single contest can have. If the consensus is that 6 is too many I would rather see us try an incremental approach. Cut it to 5 for a year. If next October the consensus is that its still too high, cut it to 4.

I vote 4 contests, Nats and one contest out of region can count. If you attend more than 4 you may get the iron-man award and better your standings because the TOP 4 count.

Four contests sound about right to me, I'm just saying because of my current situation (grad. student) that 3 might be all I can make. But as I said, I'm doing it more for myself to improve and because I like the competition. Maybe after I get done with school I could do more contests.

We have been talking about the raffle for some time. It is all over this Thread. Rick Byrd has been nice enough (Rick Rocks!!!) to let us hold a raffle for Brady Jacobsen. Chuck, Dan Powell and I have been contacting everyone asking for donations. Check the Thread and Chuck has posted what we have to offer everyone who wins the raffle. The tickets are $10 ea please buy as many as you want. All the money goes to Brady to help him get back on his feet. I'm sure you know about what happened to Brady. If not please check out the Thread that was started back in July about the serious accident with Brady and Dan Powell.

I have been emailing copies of tickets to those who have purchased them and we are currently up to $870.00.

Well Dan P has not bought any tickets yet!!! If that makes anyone feel any better.
We have not yet planned out who will be doing the actual drawing of the tickets. I have not yet spoken to Dan P, but was hoping that Brady could draw them if he is there and up to it.
