What would you do with an evolution 116?

I have an evolution 116 on factory cans in an aeroworks 36% edge.............. it's fat.............. really fat............. really really fat......... try 38.5 lbs on the spring scale last time we checked. I bought the airframe used and well...... let's just say I wouldn't do it again.

Having said all that even at 38.5 lbs this motor pulls plenty hard enough for me..... so I see it this way, if I'm going to use this motor to pull around that kinda weight why not make it a 40% airframe? I've thought about it ALOT and I'm leaning hard towards TT TOC stuff, the 37.5 yak, or the 40% EXTRA.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Convince me to pull the trigger or not. What would you do with an Evolution 116?

EF 110" Yak is the only thing I would do.

I'm with fiddy try the EF yak its big for a 100 cc plane, but light, should be a fun combo for that 116.

I did see another guy use the 116 in a 40% yak and it pulled it pretty awsome but he was light real light for a 40% plane. I have one in my 35% extra and it is really awsome. Actually unbelievable. It gains speed going verticle from take off just like you are flying strait across the sky. Probably to much engine, if there is such a thing. I bet it would be great in that Extreme flight like the others are saying.

Seriously though, put it in a 35% airframe ? And let throttle management be your happy friend ? Maybe a "lightened" 40% Sensei Style.

Find a really light airframe that needs a lot of nose weight. It's a strong engine but my God man, 8 pounds??

A 35% Pilot Rc or SD yak would work well to. The Pilot and SD 35% yak is a big bird for a 35% as well. I don't think i'd be putting that 116 in a 40%. I'm sure it would fly it...but any hard 3D , it wouldn't be enough power for an airframe that big. It's not just the weight , it's the drag on the airframe itself. That's a lot of airplane for a 116 to be pulling around.

6.8 pounds. Just a little lighter than 8 pounds.

No....pats right. That 6.8lbs is without , ign , propr washer , bolts ect. There was another thread on here , with one of those sitting on a scale. It was real close to 8lbs. And yes....8lbs is friggin HEAVY for a little 116cc motor.
