Just been looking the manual over, and I noticed the horns screw into the control surfaces.....Anyone had any issues with these coming off? Just thought they would put something a bit more sturdy.Im interested in this plane, but I dont want to buy more hardware for it....I plan on putting my DA85 in it with smoke..... I think it will handle the weight just fine......"I hope"

I've had the stock horns on a 35% AW 260 for 3 years now without any problems.

I've been flying mine all year and no problems. Install as described in instructions and will work good for you too.

I am using a single servo on the elevator of my 42% QB with zero issues. All I did differently there was I used #4 screws instead of the supplied 2.6mm(i think) screws, and that's just because I like to use allen head screws wherever possible. I have had four aeroworks planes with no issues, including the extra you are interested in.

The hardware that is included with all the QB's is awesome. Only thing I ever have changed out was the pushrods. Used turnbuckles out of lazyness than function. I did use the stock ones on single servo surfaces. Buckles are just easier on multi servos surfaces to adjust. After 3 years of flying AW QB aircraft I have never seen a control horn rip out. You will be very pleased with the stock hardware.

I would worry about the wing loading of smoke. Airplanes of any size weight effects. But this is a fairly small bird and every ounce will effect your flight performance. There is no doubt the engine will yank it in the air. The wings may get a little pissy with you . If you not doing deep stall 3-d all the time the extra weight of smoke shouldn't kill the performance. Jason ps. Put very strong servos on the Ail. At least 300 in oz |
