Another H9 Yakker with an Evolution 58 with Evolution canister here. I Love mine! So quiet. Turns a 24x10 at 7000 rpm & idles at 1150 prm. Pulls around 35 LB static thrust. I plan to try a 25x10 and expect peak rpm to drop to 6500 while still producing ~7 HP but even quieter.

Wait until it breaks in to run the bigger prop. The Evolution engines generate some serious torque and it will spin that 25x10. I would expect to see 6700 RPM on 100:1 Amsoil.

Go with the Evolution 58, but go with their canister system if you can. This Yak already has the tunnel for it, and the 58 will make a bunch more power with it. Quieter too.

Mike Anderson: What is your weight with the 58 and can setup? I thought the Evo can was heavy from what another member told me. I really hate to add 12oz heavier engine(DA-50 to Evo 58) and then add another 8-10oz to the exhaust system.

i have the DA-50 in my H9 Yak and i am more than satisfied with the performance. i have not seen the Evo58 perform so i have nothing to compare to. one thing is for sure and that is DA-50 is proven and reliability and service is everything.
