Default kevlar pull pull

Is one line of kevlar cable enough for a 80 inch span model or should I double it. Do I have to prestretch the line ? Tks

I ran Kevlar pull-pull on the rudder of a 35% Yak for two years! Great stuff. Just be carefull that there are no rubs, chafing can lead to failure.

How do you prevent rubs. The lines cross somewhere between the rudder and the servo arms.

More important not to rub the airframe.

Stick them in small diameter tubes. Make sure the tubes stick out past the exit holes of the plane.

Better yet, purchase coated Kevlar cord from Don's Hobby Shop.

http://www.donshobbyshop.com/

It's coated with a black PVC jacket, so there is no issue with abrasion and it crimps extremely well. It's also available in bulk from places like Aerospace Composites, under the name Kev-Cord.

I thought it's not safe to crimp kevlar cords but to just tie a knot and c/a the knot. I was thinking of using the Sullivan yellow colored kevlar cords. Tks
