Hi All
I am new to the forum from Toronto, ON area. I am planning on putting a 26cc CRRC Pro gas into a Aeroworks 120 size Yak 54, has anyone tried this plane with a 26 cc gas engine, how was it? Mike |

Hi and welcome to the Flying Giants. I have this plane with a Saito 1.80 and I have lots of power. A member on RCU has used a SPE 26cc with great success. He has said he has the same power as the 1.80 he used to have on it. If you go with a gas engine for this plane, I think your best bet will be the SPE 26cc. The Evolution 26 will not provide you with a lot of power, but give you enough. Below is QQ's article with his similar-sized Yak using the Evolution 26. Basically the engine provided adequate power, but did not give him the all out 3D performance.

I recently got the AW 90-1.20 and the CRRC Pro 26.I ran 10 tanks through the engine on a test bench and so far the engine is fine.I did have to change my ignition moduel, don't know what I did for that to happen. This is my first gasser. We've had some very windy days in the Bahamas lately so I just had the yak in the air for a few minutes, but the combo is great! Jody at valley view rc will be more than happy to help you out I'm sure.
When mounting the engine to the firewall I used 1/4'' spacers from valley view and 45mm evolution standoffs from advantage hobby, which gave 5 11/16''.According to the AW manual this is the required distance from the front of the firewall to the front of the engine prop hub(back of the spinner). Give Jody a call,I think you'll enjoy this combo. |

I'm planning on a MLD28 install on my 90-120 AeroWorks Yak. Any one else install this engine yet?
