Hitec has the 7955TG, JR has the DS8711. I've been out of the loop for several years. What is considered to be Futaba's no holds barred precision aerobatic servo?

I also like the brushless servos, BLS 351, 352, and 451.

well, dont start throwing all your favorite servos at me. I'm looking for the definitive, this is what all the Invitational guys that use Futaba are flying servo. Like I said, JR has the DS8711, what is the Futaba top servo these days? I've been out of IMAC for several years and off flying helis so what I know of aerobatic airplane gear is obsolete.

Is the speed of a digital servo of less importance than speed used to be? The 9156 reads as a very slow servo. .17 @6v? Wouldnt a faster servo help stop a snaproll faster for example?

Yes, actually I got him started in IMAC. He, myself and Ken McGuire are all in the same club. I left IMAC a few years ago. Three years of IMAC netted me a wall full of plaques, a mantle full of trophies and a divorce. I've been flying helis since. Anyway, looks like the consensus is 9156 and thats what I had come up with too but didnt want to lead the question. Thanks for your input.

Another thing to consider nowadays, is the fact that Futaba and JR can both handle more than an even 6 volts. JR servos can handle a full 7.4 v w/o regs, Futaba cant handle the full 7.4v yet, but we run the 9156's with a smartfly turbo reg at 6.5 volts and the power and speed is much better, and a 9157 is in the works, now 2 other buddies use JR and have 8611 A's at straight 7.4v.....WOW the power and speed of these is just simply amazing. HITEC cannot handle more than 6v. I would stick with one of the other 2, right now i prefer Futaba, but thats JMO.....good luck.

Yeah, I committed to the 9156 as of now so if I knew how to lock, delete or close this thread I would. I agree, there is only one direction this puppy is headed. hehe

S9156 and S9152
9152 is less torque but a solid gear train... very robust and it comes with arms... |
