Thats funny, we saw you driving down the freeway near Pima airpark. We were leaving TAS to get back to San Diego and you passed us and got stuck behind traffic long enough for us to read "HobbyBarn" on the box and notice the wing box.

Whew! The TAS is over and life will start to resume to 'normal' levels. Mike, I am happy to have met your Dad and was able to get the airplane to him. It was a very busy last 2 weeks for me and I am happy to say that it is over and now I can get back to customer support and getting the rest of these planes out!

The Yak is beautiful, no doubt! I will be working on mine as well as time permits (my wife owns me now for at least a month! lol.)

Can you do me a favor? Once you get the engine mounted, measure the drop down and maybe even draw a pictur of how the headers need to be, it will obviously need to be "S" shaped headers to clear the landing gear area. I have the team of Pefa guys ready to get busy with headers for this plane. I need to know the drop down so the canisters will fit center in the canister area. If you can do this for me (maybe with pics) I will send you a new prop, N/C!

People often say the Yak 55 is ugly...

WRONG!!!
The beauty is in the functionality!! This plane is perfect in every proportion... and I haven't even flown one!

Wow - that's a big plane! Looks great! The landing gear does look really thin, but I bet it's plenty strong.

Wow, this looks like an awesome ARF. I couldn't imagine having a 50%er down low, hovering in my face. It would be like having a car stand on end in front of you. Get this thing done!

Side area in the aft region of the fuselage opposes good knife edge qualities. (It tends to fight the rudder and cause the plane to weathervane or align with the flight path)
This plane has the deepest side area at the wing... where it is most effective without being destabilizing in yaw.

Bill, We have a couple of brand new 3W TS T.O.C version 240's here and plan to install one of these in the Yak....... If you like I can Install my A.I.S 275 and get you all of these measurements with pictures. I believe the only differents between the two motors is a length of 5.5mm with the 240 being 5.5mm longer. Both of these engines can pull a stuck jeep out of the mud........
Or if you like we can get you both measurements............ Just let me know.
