No we were within a few feet. The GoPro camera we were using has a wide angle view so it looked like we were further apart than we really were.

How are you supposed to get the two bottom cowl bolts in this thing??? I cut the covering patch right in fron of the landing gear and still can not get a ball link driver in at that angle??

What I did was to cut (2) slots about 1" behind the lower former just behind the screw holes, the slots themselfs are about 1.25" long. These slots are in the balsa sheeting. This will allow you to use your ball driver and gain access to the screw heads.

Finished the LMA test flights yesterday. This plane makes everything else ive flown seem really average. Loving it bigtime

Is that Yak one of the very first? I notice you don't have the white trim around the canopy...

Yea its the version one, took me so long to kit this bird out its nearly vintage already
The wheels are the same as mikes i think, Theyre the custom air light stylee metal hub jobbies. Cost me 40quid each at a show last year. Worth it tho. Those heavy duty dubro wheels with the plastic centres look way too weak for landing at the wharf.
