over the past couple of days I have ordered the 2 R5114 DPS 14ch receivers, 5in P-51 Tru-Turn spinner, Power Box Royal, KS-95 Cans and headers, they should all be here next week.
All that is left to order is the DA-170 Engine,32X10 Mejzlik Prop,Male and Female servo connector ends,And all the Titanium turnbuckles. I should have the plane ready in a few weeks , no longer than a month to be sure |

I cleaned the hobby room and built the tank tray and set it over the wing tube to check for fit, looks like they need to make this tray at least 1/2 to 3/4 in wider to touch the fuse sides, the build is coming to a stand still until I receive the rx's and the power box royal so I can set up the servos properly, last plane I did this before I had the electronics and it was not easy to get it right, this time I will have patience and do it once.

DA told me that the 170 is in full production but soo many back orders have to be filled first that they are almost unable to keep up, shouldn't be long that they can hit you with one when you want one, I will stay with purchasing factory direct or through my rep, he has been good to me and as earned my buisness

Hi Ben,
I got me one of these 3M Comp-Arf Yaks. I got the American Flag scheme. I've had the plane for a few months. I've just been waiting on the DA 170. I sold my Dalton, and this is the replacement. Jim |

eagle1,
I hope you get a 170 soon. I'm just saying don't count on it until it's in your hands. Even the vendors are having a hard time getting them right now. Chief's website is usually not very accurate as far as stock status goes. I got mine through TBM. They have, I think, 40 or so ordered. They only got 2 of them from DA, and I was lucky to get one of the 2. Jim |

Eagle 1,
the answer to your turnbuckle ? is all that I have seen are different.I have two friends with 3 meter yaks other than myself .one has two and one half inch on the ail. one has 4 and 5 inch on the ail. and the other has a pair of 3inch. I would just wait till you get to a point to measure them.looking good keep up the good work. my partner in the tailwheel business got his 170 so I hope it's off to the field sunday to do the maiden flight on his krill yak. talk to you soon, John |

thanks John for the info.
while I am awaiting more parts to come in I desided to mount all the servos in the phenolic servo trays and in the SWB servo tray to get the measurements I need, this is what I have came up with I need 6- 1 1/2" for the rudder 4- 2 1/2 for ailerons 2- 4 1/2 for the inside aileron servos 2-2" fore elveators, I will order a few extra in the 2 1/2 lust in case the elevators turn out to be just a little longer, I already have 2-2" and 2-3" just trying to get a good idea of what I need. how is this for a fare money shot, 11-9156 servos, now I need to make the rudder servo tray mounting blocks |

not working on this plane drove me crazy, so I took the better part of this evening building a servo tray mount.
I borrowed a few ideas from another comp YAK build, but instead of using the tray that comp provides I desided to make my own, I used the angles off the on that they give you and cut some 1/8" ply side rails and end caps. after glueing it together and trial fitting the tray I discovered that I did not allow for both sides to fit inside and the swb servo tray side rails, so I cut the end caps down 1/4'' after I was pleased with the fit I figured out where to add the mounting plates for the swb servo tray and used mt trusty exacto saw to remove the ends for the mounting plates and glued them in, then marked the servo wire exits on the left side and used my dremel with a mill bit to slot some holes, all and all I think it will work just fine, I will get the mount glassed in after flying tomorrow, if weather permits |
